Job summary

  • Assess and certify progress payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Evaluate and negotiate variations in scope of work.
  • Reconcile materials received with usage to control wastage.

Qualification and Experience (Requirements)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • 5 years and above of relevant experience in quantity surveying.
Job Function, Task and Responsibility (Scope)
  • Identify and qualify reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Information (RFIs), Quotations (RFQs), and Proposals (RFPs).
  • Evaluate project designs and specifications to calculate material, labor, and equipment needs.
  • Cost Negotiation: Using technical expertise to negotiate contract prices, material rates, and terms with suppliers and contractors to secure the best deal with Vendor.
  • Finalizing Contracts: Assisting the teams in finalizing contractual documents, including payment terms and work orders.
  • Procurement Strategy Development: Advising on the best procurement route (e.g., traditional, design and build, management contracting) based on project needs.
  • Value Engineering: Analyzing proposed materials and methods to suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
  • Cost Planning & Market Intelligence: Using market knowledge to forecast costs and align procurement activities with market fluctuations.
  • Valuation of Work: Assessing the progress of work on site to certify payments for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Variations Management: Evaluating and negotiating costs for changes or variations in the scope of work during the project.
  • Material Reconciliation: Reconciling materials received with materials used on site to manage wastage and confirm procurement accuracy.
