About The Role

We are looking for a Procurement Engineer to manage the sourcing and procurement of customized components and materials required for our products.

This is a technical procurement role. You will work closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Operations teams to source the right components at the right quality, cost, and timeline.

The role involves understanding engineering drawings and manufacturing processes, identifying and developing suppliers, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring timely material availability for prototypes and production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source mechanical, electrical, electronic, and other customized components for product development and manufacturing.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and GD&T requirements.

  • Identify suitable suppliers and manufacturing processes for customized components.

  • Develop, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers.

  • Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to understand technical requirements.

  • Obtain and analyze supplier quotations and negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and other commercial terms.

  • Analyze component cost structures and identify cost reduction opportunities.

  • Track supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.

  • Ensure timely availability of materials for prototypes, production, and customer deliveries.

  • Follow up with suppliers and manage delays, shortages, and escalations.

  • Maintain procurement documentation including RFQs, comparative statements, POs, job orders, delivery challans, and costing records.

  • Identify alternate suppliers and proactively manage supply chain risks.

  • Visit suppliers for capability assessments, audits, development, and order follow-ups when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Engineering.

  • 1–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, or supplier development.

  • Experience in sourcing customized or precision-manufactured components.

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, fabrication, injection moulding, welding, or similar processes.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and GD&T.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Good understanding of component costing and commercial negotiations.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and ERP or inventory management systems.

  • Strong communication, follow-up, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Willingness to travel for supplier visits and other work-related activities when required.

What You'll Gain

  • Exposure to the complete journey of a product — from engineering design to manufacturing and final delivery.

  • Experience working across Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations.

  • Exposure to strategic sourcing, cost engineering, supplier development, and supply chain risk management.

  • The opportunity to work on products involving robotics, AI, computer vision, healthcare, and precision engineering.

  • Significant ownership and the opportunity to directly impact product cost, quality, timelines, and scalability.

Why Morphle?

  • Work on products that contribute to improving cancer diagnostics globally.

  • Work closely with exceptional engineers, suppliers, business teams, and leadership.

  • Opportunity for significant ownership and rapid professional growth.

  • A young, ambitious team that works hard and parties harder.

  • Amazing in-house chef with hot meals and a continuous flow of tea, coffee, and snacks.

  • A fast-growing environment where you can build systems and processes rather than simply follow them.

We are looking for someone who understands that procurement is not just about buying parts.

It is about understanding what we are building, finding the right partners to build it with, and making the entire process faster, better, and more scalable.

If you enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and business, we would love to meet you.
