Job description

Procore is looking for Software Engineer to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a dynamic engineering team to develop and maintain mission critical file services within our Construction Documents division. Your primary goal will be to write clean, efficient code and help build scalable solutions that align with Procore’s technical and business objectives.

Job Description

• Develop, test, and maintain code for software applications with a focus on quality, performance, and maintainability
• Work with senior engineers and product managers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Collaborate in code reviews and pair programming sessions to improve code quality and learn best practices
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects, ensuring a seamless user experience
• Contribute to backend development and infrastructure, with mentorship and guidance from senior team members
• Write documentation for new and existing features, ensuring clarity and consistency
• Participate in team meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives to continuously improve development processes
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to contribute fresh ideas and approaches

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 0-2 years of experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on coding skills in languages like Java, Ruby, Python or C#.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) and familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
• Enthusiasm for backend technologies and willingness to gain experience in backend development
• Self-motivated with a growth mindset and openness to feedback
