Unichem Laboratories Limited in Goa seeks a Research Executive - Process Safety with 5-10 years of experience to ensure process safety for lab-developed APIs and safe lab operations.

The role includes hazard assessments for scale-up/tech transfer, development of safety standards, HAZOP reviews, and safety training. Strong organization, GMP compliance knowledge, and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure process safety assessment of Lab developed API and its intermediate.
• Ensure safe lab environment and adherence to EHS rules and programs.
• Conduct preliminary and detailed chemical reaction hazard assessments for scale-up and tech transfer.
• Provide process safety analysis data to derive safety controls.
• Assess operational and powder safety (combustibility, static electricity, dust explosions, flammability).
• Coordinate as Safety central point for R&D & API units.
• Prepare process safety reports and share with plant for HAZOP.
• Review HAZOP and risk assessment reports for new/existing processes.
• Develop safety standards, procedures and SOPs for investigating process safety incidents.
• Perform DSC, RC, ARC, TSU, ARSST tests and evaluate data.
• Provide training for chemists & engineers in process safety.
• Develop emergency response plans and coordinate with local teams.

Position- Research Executive - Process Safety

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure process safety assessment of Lab developed API and its intermediate.
• Ensure safe lab environment and adherence of the group to EHS rules and programs.
• Conduct preliminary and detailed chemical reaction hazard assessments for scale-up and Tech transfer.
• Provide relevant process safety analysis data to derive meaningful conclusions and safety controls.
• Responsible for conducting assessments related to operational and powder safety. (Combustibility, static electricity hazards, dust explosion, flammability hazards etc.
• Serve as a Central point Coordinator for Safety at R&D & API units.
• Prepare process safety report of new as well as existing plant process and share the same with plant for preparation of HAZOP
• Review HAZOP and risk assessment report for new and existing processes.
• Develop safety standards/procedures, and SOPs to ensure that they are appropriate and fit for the purpose of investigating process safety incident.
• Perform experiments and data evaluation of test results from: DSC, RC, ARC, TSU, ARSST, etc.
• Provide training for chemists & engineers in process safety.
• Emergency Response Planning: Develop emergency plans for incidents like chemical spills and fires. Coordinate with local teams.
