POSITION TITLE : Process Lead, Nashik Plant

REPORTS TO : Platform Manager - Nashik Plant

LOCATION : Malegaon, Sinnar, Nashik

Nashik plant supports the following businesses:

  • Bakeries business in India
  • Retail cake mixes for India & International markets
  • Food service chains with frozen tortilla capabilities
  • Ready to Eat Frozen Muffins for India and select export markets
  • Frozen flat breads, dough products with and without filling for India / Exports

Purpose

The Process Lead is overall accountable to drive out process losses across the platform leveraging data and effective problem solving to deliver expected results. Responsible for building capability across the platform to develop multi-skilled and self-sufficient autonomous teams. In addition, the role owns data integrity and designated processes, systems and tools for the platform. The incumbent leads loss analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement in coordination with the Maintenance Lead, FSQ executive & line technicians.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Role models Engaging Leader behaviours to build a high performing team.
  • Accountable for 24-hour platform results related to safety and process losses.
  • Support and lead capability development of platform members as per the Technician Career System to identify, measure and drive out losses to deliver targeted line/system results, providing coaching, support, direction, and ongoing feedback.
  • Support DDS process for the platform and coach DDS for the line.
  • Deliver critical technical expertise to drive out process losses:
  • Ensure data accuracy according to Capacity Analysis rules and help the team leverage this data to identify, prioritize and eliminate losses.
  • Own CIL & Centreline daily management system (CL) across the platform and coach/ develop technician CIl & CL system owners.
  • Support development of the loss tree and glidepath and lead portions of the 90-Day improvement plan.
  • Support Platform Leader’s quality functional ownership to ensure line/ system meets product attributes and process parameters.
  • Apply advanced data analysis tools to expose and eliminate losses.
  • Drive Statistical Process Control (SPC) to support overuse and overpack reduction.
  • Rapid Changeover subject matter expert to drive out planned losses.
  • Lead change management and validation processes for system and process changes.
  • Coach problem-solving methodologies to enable technicians to identify and eliminate root causes.
  • Foster an inclusive environment and cross-boundary collaboration to share best practices.
  • Partner with Engineering on capital and product commercialization.
  • Create and follow personal development plan to build platform technical skills and support trainer/qualifier needs via the Technician Career System; develop understanding of all DMS (CIL, CL, DH, BE, etc.) to optimize coaching span and loss analysis.
  • Apply Reward and Recognition System expectations at individual and team levels.
  • Able to cover the Platform Leader and Maintenance Leader responsibilities in the short-term absence.
  • HSE - Ensure safety of all associates and contractors, safety of products and activities; create HSE culture through visible leadership and deployment of HSE Policy/Management system; ensure compliance with GMI GSE Standards and local legislation.
  • Food Safety & Quality - Ensure effective implementation of General Mills Quality Policies and Food Safety requirements; continuously improve performance through effective communication and capability building.
  • Others - Maintain good industrial relations on the shop floor and handle grievances or complaints per approved processes.

Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or food science from recognized institute
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in Manufacturing with strong experience in driving loss recovery online; good coaching and people management skills

Experience in FMCG is required and food industry experience is preferred.
