Job summary

Cognet HRO is seeking a detail-oriented Process Associate – Finance & Accounting (F&A) in Chennai. The role supports daily accounting operations, including GL, RTR, AP, and AR, and is suitable for fresh graduates or those with up to 2 years of experience who want to develop their accounting knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or related operations.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Basic knowledge of account reconciliation and financial closing processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new accounting systems and follow established processes.

Responsibilities

• Process journal entries, general ledger transactions, and routine accounting activities accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with Record-to-Report (RTR) activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting support.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and completing assigned tasks within deadlines.
• Process vendor invoices, payment requests, and accounts payable transactions in accordance with established procedures.
• Support customer invoicing, cash applications, payment allocation, and accounts receivable activities.
• Perform basic account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and assist in resolving routine accounting issues.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of accounting transactions.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), internal controls, and quality standards.
• Identify and report process errors, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Coordinate with internal teams and relevant stakeholders to resolve routine queries and ensure timely completion of activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and comply with company policies and accounting guidelines.
