Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bengaluru is seeking a Principal System/Software Engineer for SONiC Development. You will design, develop, and maintain the SONiC network operating system platform, and troubleshoot platform software issues.

Collaborating with hardware engineers, QA teams, and cross-functional partners, you will review code, drive architectural discussions, and contribute to documentation. A strong background in C/C++, Linux kernel/device drivers, and embedded networking is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or electronics or telecommunication engineering with networking and system software experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming with object-oriented analysis and design, data structures and system debugging.
• Thorough understanding of Linux OS concepts and ability to debug hard system-level issues.
• Deep understanding of hardware and system-level design for carrier-class software development.
• Proficiency with Linux device drivers, system bring-up, and Linux kernel; prior experience with large codebases preferred.
• Strong scripting, familiarity with DevOps practices, and experience in networking and embedded platform software.
