This role is part of the AI, Platform Engineering & DevX (APEX) to act as a principal engineer of Managed Database teams under Managed Data Platform area.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of experience in software development, deployment, and lifecycle management
- Proven track record of architecting large-scale, distributed systems in AWS
- Experience building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to build, test and deploy to different AWS environments such as Lambda, EC2, ECS, EKS, and more
- Experience leading DevOps strategy and implementation across teams
- Advanced proficiency in C#, SQL, databases, cloud automation, and AWS
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices – including unit tests, code review, version control, production monitoring, and more
- Proficient in managing cloud-native platforms with a strong PaaS focus
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead engineering teams
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Crossplane
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
- Architect, modernize, and lead the development of scalable, production-grade managed database platform as services
- Deep working experience on Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Argo CD, and related tools
- Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters
- Use infrastructure as code tools such as Helm, Kustomize, and Terraform
- Implement open-source projects in Kubernetes and set up monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Apply Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network, and pod security policies
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Manage and optimize Artifactory repositories for efficient artifact storage and distribution
- Architect, deploy, and manage AWS resources including EC2, Lambda, Auto Scaling Groups, and EBS
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize AWS resources for high availability, scalability, and performance
- Implement security best practices and compliance standards in the AWS environment
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python, Groovy, and Shell
- Leverage expertise in at least one of the technologies: Python, React, NodeJS
- Apply deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
- Collaborate with product managers to scope new features and capabilities
- Maintain a growth mindset and attention to detail while exploring new technologies
