Job summary

TA Digital seeks an experienced Principal Java Software Engineer (14–18 yrs) to design, develop, and architect scalable enterprise apps. You will lead technical directions, mentor teams, and drive best practices across Java, Spring, microservices, Kafka, and cloud-native deployments.

You will translate business needs into robust software solutions, ensure security and performance, and collaborate with product, DevOps, and architecture teams to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• 14-18 years of overall experience in software engineering and enterprise app development.
• Proven experience as principal engineer, lead architect, or equivalent senior role.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and Kafka.
• Experience with distributed systems, design patterns, and scalable architectures.
• Ability to design REST APIs and integrate with internal/external systems.
• Relational DBs (PostgreSQL/Oracle/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) knowledge.
• Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud-native development.
• DevOps/CI/CD experience with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Testing expertise (JUnit, Mockito) and observability concepts.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Principal Java Software Engineer with 14-18 years of experience in designing, developing, and architecting scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, Apache Kafka, and distributed systems.

The candidate will be responsible for defining technical architecture, driving engineering best practices, solving complex technical challenges, and providing technical leadership to development teams. This role requires a hands‑on technology leader who can translate business requirements into robust, scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Define and drive application architecture, including microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Design and implement real-time data streaming and messaging solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate applications with internal and external systems.
• Establish architectural standards, design patterns, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
• Evaluate technology stacks and recommend appropriate tools and frameworks to address business and technical requirements.

Requirements:

• Java: Strong expertise in Core Java, OOP, Collections, Multithreading, Concurrency, JVM internals, and performance tuning.
• Spring Ecosystem: Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.
• Microservices Architecture: Strong experience designing distributed, loosely coupled, scalable, and resilient microservices.
• Apache Kafka: Hands‑on expertise in Kafka architecture, producers, consumers, partitions, consumer groups, replication, fault tolerance, and event‑driven systems.
• Software Architecture: Expertise in high-level and low-level design, design patterns, SOLID principles, domain-driven design (DDD), and architectural best practices.
• API Development: Experience designing REST APIs and working with API gateways and service integration.
• Databases: Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL, along with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Cloud Technologies: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native application development.
• DevOps and CI/CD: Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Observability: Experience with application monitoring, distributed tracing, logging, and performance troubleshooting.
• Testing: Expertise in unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• 14-18 years of overall experience in software engineering and enterprise application development.
• Proven experience as a principal engineer, lead architect, technical architect, or equivalent senior engineering role.
• Strong track record of architecting and delivering complex, large-scale Java-based applications.
• Demonstrated expertise in Apache Kafka and event-driven microservices architecture.
