Job summary

Smartsheet Inc. is seeking a Java full-stack engineer in Bengaluru to contribute across the full development life cycle, participate in architectural discussions, and build scalable, high-availability services.

The role involves maintaining APIs, implementing new features, QA participation, and collaborating with systems engineers. Strong OO design and English fluency are required, with 3–4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent
• Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the entire development life cycle, from concept to release

You Will

• Contribute to the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
• Participate in system architecture discussions
• Implement new features and improve the ones we have already built
• Maintain existing service API and develop new ones
• Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution
• Interact with systems engineers to debug infrastructure problems
• Actively use AI tools to improve personal and team efficiency across coding, testing, design, and troubleshooting, exploring AI integration opportunities within team processes and features, and coaching others on effective AI use
• Perform other duties as assigned

You Have

• 3-4 years Experience with Java Full Stack
• Experience with Object Oriented design
• Familiarity of Microservice Architecture
• Experience building scalable, high availability applications
• BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis
• Fluency in English is required

Nice to Have

• Experience with DynamoDB and other non relational databases
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL
• Experience with AWS, and/or AWS qualifications (AWS Developer, AWS Solution Architect)
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with service orchestration tools e.g. k8s, HashiCorp
• Experience with linux debugging commands like tcpdump and strace
