Epergne Solutions in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Principal Scientist for AI Research to lead advanced research in Generative AI, LLMs, multimodal AI, and agentic AI systems. This role involves defining research direction, developing novel AI algorithms, mentoring research teams, and translating research outcomes into scalable enterprise-grade AI solutions.

We expect 10–15 years of AI research experience, a strong publication record, and the ability to drive research from concept to production.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Define and drive research roadmap across LLMs, multimodal AI, Generative AI, NLP and agentic systems.
• Lead research initiatives, experimentation, benchmarking, and publish high-quality outputs.
• Design and optimise AI algorithms for large-scale training, inference, reasoning, memory and autonomous AI systems.
• Develop scalable GenAI architectures, including retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy AI solutions into production environments.
• Mentor scientists and engineers, establish research best practices, and contribute to patents and reusable assets.
• Promote responsible AI practices, reproducibility and research excellence.

Role Summary:-

We are seeking a Principal Scientist ? AI Research to lead advanced research and development in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), multimodal AI, and agentic AI systems. This role involves defining research direction, developing novel AI algorithms, mentoring research teams, and translating research outcomes into scalable enterprise-grade AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Define and drive the research roadmap across LLMs, multimodal AI, Generative AI, NLP, and agentic systems.
• Lead research initiatives, experimentation, benchmarking, and publication of high-quality research outputs.
• Design and optimise AI algorithms for large-scale model training, inference, reasoning, memory, and autonomous AI systems.
• Develop scalable GenAI architectures, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt orchestration, and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deploy AI solutions into production environments.
• Build and optimise distributed training pipelines, inference systems, and cloud-based AI platforms.
• Mentor scientists and engineers, establish research best practices, and contribute to patents and reusable research assets.
• Promote responsible AI practices, reproducibility, and research excellence.

Required Skills:-

• Deep expertise in LLMs, Generative AI, multimodal AI, NLP, and agentic AI.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, distributed systems, and AI model optimisation.
• Experience with RAG architectures, prompt engineering, and scalable AI deployment.
• Proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), MLOps/LLMOps, and real-time inference systems.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor teams and collaborate across research, engineering, and product functions.

Qualifications & Experience:-

• Master?s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 10?15 years of experience in AI research, machine learning, or advanced AI technology development.
• Demonstrated experience leading AI research initiatives and delivering production-ready AI solutions.
• Strong publication record and contributions to AI research, patents, or open-source projects are preferred.
