This role will define the AI vision, build multidisciplinary research and engineering teams, and translate research outcomes into scalable products and technology innovations.

You will oversee long-term strategy, governance, and collaborations with academia and industry, ensuring responsible AI practices while delivering impactful innovations.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in CS/AI/ML or related field.
• 12-15+ years of AI research/leadership experience.
• Experience in scaling AI centers or labs.
• Publications, patents, or significant contributions to AI research and innovation are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term AI research and innovation strategy and roadmap.
• Build, lead, and develop multidisciplinary AI research and engineering teams.
• Drive research in LLMs, multimodal AI, NLP, computer vision, and agentic AI systems.
• Establish governance, operating models, and quality standards for research, engineering, publications, patents, and product development.
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle from research to productization.
• Develop partnerships with universities, research institutions, industry partners, and technology ecosystems.
• Ensure responsible AI practices, including privacy, security, explainability, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the long-term AI research and innovation strategy and roadmap.
• Build, lead, and develop multidisciplinary AI research and engineering teams.
• Drive research in areas such as large language models (LLMs), multimodal AI, agentic AI, natural language processing, and computer vision.
• Establish governance, operating models, and quality standards for research, engineering, publications, patents, and product development.
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle from research and experimentation through technology transfer and productisation.
• Develop partnerships with universities, research institutions, industry partners, and technology ecosystems.
• Ensure responsible AI practices, including privacy, security, explainability, and governance.
• Represent the AI function in executive, technical, and stakeholder engagements.

Required Skills

• Strategic leadership in AI research and technology innovation.
• Expertise in LLMs, multimodal AI, NLP, computer vision, and agentic AI systems.
• Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, and enterprise AI deployment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master?s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 12?15+ years of experience in AI research, technology leadership, or R&D management.
• Demonstrated experience building or scaling AI research centres, innovation labs, or AI Centres of Excellence.
• Track record of delivering enterprise-grade AI solutions and leading research-to-product initiatives.
• Publications, patents, or significant contributions to AI research and innovation are advantageous.
