Job summary

WOODplc, a global engineering leader, seeks an experienced Design Engineer with a proven track record in mineral beneficiation, hydrometallurgy and material handling. The role requires leadership of complex projects and coordination across disciplines to deliver FEED/EPC scopes.

The successful candidate will chair reviews, drive design validation, manage change across the project, and mentor teams while ensuring quality and timely delivery in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate in Engineering (Desirable).
• Membership in Professional Organizations (Desirable).
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Design Engineering environment with lead role for 7 years in discipline project execution (Essential) in mineral beneficiation process processing and material handling projects process/hydrometallurgical processing and material handling projects.
• Abilitytoleadmediumteamsinamulti-disciplinetaskforce-basedengineering/lumpsum services environment.
• Provenexpertisein,Pre-Feasibilitystudies,Feasibilitystudies,FEEDandEPCEngineering execution including Field Engineering in forPhosphate-Benef beneficiation, Phosphate Granularization, Phosphoric and Sulphuric Acid projects
• Performs most assignments independently with instructions as to the general results expected.ReceivestechnicalguidancefromEngineeringSpecialistsorSupervisorson unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed project plans.
• Analytical,problem-solvingskills.

• DeputiesforProjectEngineeringManagerandundertakeplannedProjectEngineeringManager'sresponsibilitieswhereauthorityisappropriatelydelegated.
• ReviewprogressregularlywithLeadDisciplineEngineersandAreaProjectEngineers,understandkeyissuespreventingprogressandassistinresolvingtheseissues.
• AppraiseProjectEngineeringManagerofallissuesimpactingonqualityandkeyissuesaffectingprogress.
• ProvideinputintotheProjectNeedsList,RiskRegister,ActionLogandTechnicalDecisionLogandassistinthepreparationofprojectinstructions.
• CoordinateengineeringchangemanagementactivitiesacrossthewholeProject,GenerateProjectspecificproceduresandinstructionsrelatingtoProjectEngineering
• Reviewandapprovesubcontractrequisitions.
• CoordinateEngineeringinputtodocumentdistributionmatrixandensurematrixisregularlyreviewedandupdated.
• Identifyfilingsystemsrequirementsandensuretheseareproperlydocumented.
• Coordinatethecaptureofallengineeringlessonslearnedensuringthatare submitted into the Company system for corporate review.
• MonitorstatusofactionsarisingfromQAanddepartmentalauditsandexpeditetheirclosurewhererequired.

• CoordinateengineeringchangemanagementactivitiesacrossthewholeProject,Generate Project specific procedures and instructions relating to Project Engineering
• Reviewandapprovesubcontractrequisitions.
• CoordinateEngineeringinputtodocumentdistributionmatrixandensurematrixisregularly reviewed and updated.
• Identifyfilingsystemsrequirementsandensuretheseareproperlydocumented.
