About the Team/About the Role:

The Principal Professional Services Engineer is responsible for providing remote and onsite post sales technical support to service provider and enterprise customers of NETSCOUT Arbor security products and being a Subject Matter Expert.

The Principal Professional Services Engineer relies on experience and judgment to plan and execute a variety of complicated tasks that require a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Responsibilities:
  • Subject Matter Expert for NETSCOUT Arbor security and supports colleagues on all kinds of technical questions.

  • Design, Implementation, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex technical customer issues associated with NETSCOUT Arbor security products – remote or onsite.

  • Replicating and testing customer configurations and designs in a lab environment – remote or onsite.

  • Recreating, tracking, and verifying software defects in the field or under lab conditions reported by customers.

  • Providing informal and/or formal training on NETSCOUT Arbor security products to the customer’s staff – remote or onsite.

  • Interfacing with other technical support personnel, engineering, and product management to escalate and resolve issues.

  • Tuning and Optimizing the NETSCOUT Arbor security products installed in the customers environment – remote or onsite.

  • Assisting with security attack mitigations (pre-attack prep, during-attack assistance, post-attack reviews) – remote or onsite.

  • Assist with escalations of technical support tickets raised by NETSCOUT Arbor customers.

  • Creating and Testing Method Operating Procedures (MOPs) prior to customer maintenance activities on NETSCOUT Arbor security devices.

  • Performing upgrade activities or investigations of reported problems – remote or onsite.

  • Providing feedback from customers to product management and engineering teams via appropriate systems.

  • Maintaining phone availability for critical escalations.

  • Generating customer specific NETSCOUT Arbor security technical documentation, as needed.

  • Participating in defining Best Common Practices on configuring and operating NETSCOUT Arbor security solutions.

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of NETSCOUT business processes and procedures.

  • Creation of presentations and professional delivering of presentations.

  • Travel (between 30% - 50%) required – to customer sites and corporate.

Basic Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in CS/EE and/or 5+ years’ experience in technical support functions with very strong fundamental understanding of telecom network and routing environments.

  • Advanced networking skills required (TCP/IP, MPLS and BGP Routing and BGP Flow Spec).

  • Strong network security skills required, Knowledge of DDoS and mitigation techniques.

  • Advanced knowledge of Linux and/or Solaris Operating System and scripting.

  • Outstanding Customer services and communication skills.

  • Strong Interpersonal, Teamwork, process development and network troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work in a self-sufficient manner, involving other parties where necessary.

  • Ability to Fluently Speak English is required.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • NetFlow experience and understanding desired.

  • Knowledge of network test equipment and network management tools (SNMP, MRTG…etc.).

  • Any other language is a benefit.
