Job summary

Nokia seeks an engineering leader with 15+ years in telecom/optical, to shape software requirements and architecture for the next-generation Optical Line System in Bengaluru, India.

Strong hands-on skills in OS, OO design, and C++ are essential. Prior experience as a Product Owner in Scrum and a good grasp of Agile and AI concepts are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering in telecom/optical domain.
• Excellent hands-on experience with operating systems and OO design.

Responsibilities

• Define detailed software requirements and system/software architecture based on high-level product requirements for Nokia’s next-generation Optical Line System.
• Work closely with software architects and designers to implement robust optical telecom embedded solutions.
• Possess deep knowledge of optical technologies (DWDM, ROADM, amplifiers, Raman, OTDR, DGE) and ensure integration with hardware.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and contribute in Scrum teams, with emphasis on Agile practices and AI awareness.

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience in the telecom/optical industry.

• Thorough understanding of optical standards related to DWDM and line systems.
• Strong experience in optical technologies and optical line systems, including DWDM, ROADM, amplifiers, Raman, OTDR, DGE, etc.
• Prior experience in the architecture and design of optical/telecom embedded systems.
• Excellent hands-on experience with operating systems, object-oriented design, and C++.
• Role involves defining detailed software requirements and system/software architecture, working closely with software architects and designers, based on high-level product requirements for Nokia’s next-generation Optical Line System.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Highly desirable to have the ability or prior experience as a Product Owner (PO) in Scrum teams.
• Highly desirable to have a strong understanding of Agile Scrum and AI.
