Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise India Private Limited in Bengaluru seeks a Principal Engineer-Product and Network Validation to lead hands-on validation of networking products for enterprise deployments.

You will design test plans, drive automation, and own critical validation outcomes while collaborating with global teams to ensure robust product quality and timely releases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics, Electrical or equivalent.
• Typically 15 years strong experience in networking with proven hands-on experience in Routing and Switching areas across eVPN-VxLAN, DCI, Aggregation, Colllapsed core/Aggregation based NW deployment designs
• Strong ownership mindset to be accountable for solution and feature validation and owning customer requirements and use cases across Legacy and eVPN-VxLAN based deployments in Enterprise campus business for both wired and wireless architecture

Responsibilities

• Designs limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.
• Executes and writes portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
• Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
• Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

What You’ll Do:

Responsible for providing solid support of Networking Products that involve customer-specific tests for a release, product, and solution. This role requires to develop and maintain expertise on the products deployed within the Specific Customer Networks. This senior level role seeks candidates having strong expertise in networking fundamentals, L2/L3 protocols and hands on experience in both manual & automation of multi-dimensional scaled solutions testing. In addition, the role also requires very strong ownership mindset and subject matter expertise in driving outcomes wrt to solution validation and accountability.

What You Need to Bring:

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics, Electrical or equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills:

Internet Protocols: TCP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6
Domain Knowledge: Enterprise Campus and Data Centre Technologies and AI/ML Data Center Network Technologies
Networking Protocols: BGP, OSPF/ISIS, ARP, VLANS, MPLS, L3VPN, MC-LAG, LACP, L2VPN, VPLS, Multicast, NGMVPN, EVPN-VXLAN, GRE, IPSec, NAT, HTTP, NetConf, OISM, GBP, Firewall/ACL, Access Security/DHCP/Dot1x etc. Layer 2 technologies, Spanning Tree, LAG, MC-LAG, Virtual Chassis, CLOS Architecture, HA Design Concepts, EVPN Test Knowledge: Own Test Plans and Test Execution, Understanding of Complex Customer Networks for detailed use case analysis and validation. Automation: Proven experience in automated test execution, ability to debug automation failures, and narrow down software issues from test results and logs. Knowledge in Python/Pytest/Go or any other scripting language. Expertise in use of networking test equipment like Spirent and Ixia, including automation. Experience on wireless simulators will be an added advantage Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options with Senior engineers and leadership.
