Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Modern Workplace Migration Specialist (L3) to lead end-to-end design, strategy, and delivery of Microsoft 365 modernization projects. This role will cover email, collaboration, endpoint management, security, and compliance across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on enterprise-scale migrations, hybrid deployments, governance, and regulatory compliance.
As an L3 expert, you will act as the technical authority and solution owner, guiding L1/L2 engineers, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless adoption of modern workplace solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and lead large-scale migrations (on-prem Exchange EXO, Gmail/IMAP EXO, file servers SharePoint/OneDrive).
- Oversee hybrid Exchange deployments, advanced transport rules, journaling, and archival strategies.
- Design governance for SharePoint Online (hub sites, multi-geo, permissions, retention, DLP, IRM).
- Define and enforce Teams governance, lifecycle policies, and compliance recording.
- Lead integration of Teams voice/Direct Routing/SBCs/Teams Rooms into enterprise environments.
- Define and implement Intune architecture (compliance, conditional access, Autopilot, app protection).
- Establish Zero Trust security baselines (CIS benchmarks, security defaults, PIM).
- Provide strategic oversight of device lifecycle management and adoption.
- Architect enterprise-wide Microsoft Purview solutions (DLP, Insider Risk, eDiscovery, Records Management).
- Lead compliance frameworks (SAMA, CBB, NCA, GDPR, CCC/CCC+).
- Deploy and optimize Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps.
- Conduct compliance assessments, audit readiness, and regulatory alignment.
- Define migration roadmaps, cutover strategies, and coexistence approaches.
- Lead change management and adoption programs for Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Optimize Microsoft licensing costs and usage.
- Mentor and guide L1/L2 engineers, act as escalation point for complex issues.
- Represent the organization in audit/regulatory discussions with external bodies.
Required Skills & Experience
- 812 years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in Microsoft 365 migrations & modernization.
- Proven expertise in enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 deployments (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune).
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance (Purview, Defender, Conditional Access).
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust, identity protection, and regulatory frameworks (SAMA, CBB, NCA, GDPR, ISO).
- Demonstrated ability to design architectures, lead cross-functional teams, and engage with executives & regulators.
- Excellent leadership, documentation, and communication skills.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Core: MS-203 (Messaging Administrator), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator), MS-700 (Teams Administrator)
- Security & Compliance: SC-300, SC-400, SC-100
- Architecture: AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- Additional: ITIL, ISO/Compliance certifications (advantageous)
