The candidate will have a recognised postgraduate medical qualification, a PhD preferred, at least 10 years teaching experience, and a minimum of 5 years as Professor or HOD, with proven leadership and governance

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Academic Leadership: Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS/DNB) medical curricula.
• Administrative Management: Serve as the drawing and disbursing officer, manage budgets, and direct daily operations of the college and affiliated hospital.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to standards set by national medical bodies, the affiliated university, and government health norms.
• Faculty & Staff Oversight: Handle faculty recruitment, performance evaluations, promotions, and professional development.
• Committee Leadership: Chair the College Council, academic boards, and hospital management committees.
• Research & Quality Assurance: Foster a research-driven environment, encourage clinical and academic publications, and monitor student welfare and discipline.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: A recognized postgraduate medical qualification (MD / MS / DNB). A Ph.D. in a relevant medical discipline is often preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of total teaching experience in a recognized medical college.
• Seniority: At least 5 years of experience serving as a Professor or Head of Department (HOD).
• Administrative Skills: Proven track record in institutional administration, leadership, and regulatory affairs
