Job summary

Mastercard in Maharashtra, India seeks a Principal Network Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of our global network monitoring and observability platforms. You will ensure end-to-end visibility, performance, and proactive fault management across data centers, cloud, and backbone networks.

The role requires strategic leadership and hands-on expertise in SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, telemetry, and tools like SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, DataDog, and Wireshark.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of payment network requirements: low latency, deterministic routing, high availability, and compliance.
• Expertise in SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, sFlow, streaming telemetry, and packet-level analysis.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, DataDog, Wireshark, and custom-built solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end monitoring solutions for high-availability payment networks across backbone, edge, cloud, and data centers.
• Design real-time observability pipelines using established tools and custom telemetry frameworks.
• Define network SLAs, KPIs, and SLOs aligned with payment performance and regulatory standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and incident forensics through logs, flows and metrics.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet PCI-DSS and other standards.
• Drive automation and AI/ML-based anomaly detection to proactively identify issues.
• Evaluate and integrate next-gen observability tools and contribute to vendor strategy.
• Mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions across the infra team.

Role

• Architect end-to-end monitoring solutions for high-availability payment networks, including backbone, edge, cloud, and data center environments.
• Design and implement real-time observability pipelines using tools like ThousandEyes, LogicMonitor, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Splunk, and custom telemetry frameworks.
• Define network SLAs, KPIs, and SLOs aligned with payment transaction performance and regulatory compliance.
• Lead root cause analysis and incident forensics through advanced correlation of logs, flows, and metrics.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure monitoring meets PCI-DSS and other regulatory standards.
• Drive automation and AI/ML-based anomaly detection to proactively identify and mitigate network issues.
• Evaluate and integrate next-gen observability tools and contribute to vendor strategy.
• Mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions across the broader infrastructure team.
