Job summary

Alcon is seeking an experienced SAP expert to translate high level requirements into scalable SAP solutions in Bengaluru. You will drive procurement-related design across MM-PUR, Ariba, and Concur T&E, aligning with global templates and architectural standards.

Responsibilities include stakeholder alignment, scoping workshops, delivering on time and budget, and ensuring designs pass peer reviews and security/compliance checks. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• University degree or adequate equivalent.
• Bachelor degree in business/technical stream with SAP knowledge.
• 6–8 years IT/business consultancy experience with SAP in international environments.
• Proven experience in SAP S4 HANA/ECC implementations; S4 preferred.
• Proven experience in SAP Ariba and backend connectivity.
• Experience with SAP Invoicing and Concur T&E systems preferred.
• Web integration and analytics experience.
• Willingness to travel – up to 25%.

Job description

Summary of Position:

Translate high level design and business requirements into system solutions and implement in alignment with the design and architectural standards, while meeting quality, performance and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business process understanding and driving business stakeholders alignment.
• Develop system designs that adhere to high level conceptual design and are traceable to functional as well as non-functional requirements in projects/enhancements
• Ensure designs produced adhere to architectural roadmap and support the development, execution and operations of solutions
• Deliver design solutions in line with system design standards which are global and scalable following a global template philosophy (Core/Template)
• Ensure that solutions meet requirements outlined in the architecture handbook
• Perform scoping, fit-gap workshops for projects/enhancements, proposes solutions for key gaps, provide effort estimations and align with business teams
• Ensure that project/enhancements work is delivered to agreed time, cost and quality constraints following the release calendars
• Ensure that developed solutions are peer reviewed, formally documented and signed off by business
• Initiate solution testing to ensure these meet quality standards
• Follow standardized design and development processes to enable cost effective delivery
• Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Solution Design scope.

Key Performance Indicators/Measures of Success:

• Solution Quality; Cost efficiency; Delivery time; Customer Satisfaction; Achievement of KPIs for enhancements
• Global responsibility for SAP design, upgrade, maintenance and Support of the Direct and Indirect Procurement functions with interaction with Accounts Payable and T&E management from IT perspective
• Providing governance and maintenance to the Global Source-to-pay template with AP and T&E functionalities
• Providing SME level support for the AMS team on Production Support incidents and Enhancement requests

Influence:

• Maintaining and updating global procurement template design for SAP with other strategic programs and projects influencing:
  • IT stakeholders – Business Techlogy Partners (BTP) and Global Process Owner(GPO) community
  • Application Maintenance Services (AMS) team

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• University degree or adequate equivalent
• Bachelor degree in business/technical stream and SAP knowledge in specified module(s)/process areas.
• At least 6 to 8 years experience in IT/business consultancy with SAP implementation in an international environment. Prior experience in working with small – Mid size teams needed. Team leading capability will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience in SAP S4 HANA/ECC implementations, detailed process analysis and design, system architecture and technology standards. S4 experiences will be preferred.
• Proven experience in understanding SAP functionality, related business processes, master and transactional data structures in the area of responsibility.
• Deep knowledge in SAP Ariba latest generation products, their architecture with backend connectivity will be preferred.
• Working level knowledge in SAP Invoicing and Concur T&E system will be preferred.
• Web integration methodology, data acquisition frameworks and analytics will be appreciated.
• Willingness to travel – Less than 25% (based on business need).
• Direct impact on strategic SAP programs and projects to deliver Business & IT strategy under guidance and supervision of ESA – F&P leadership.

• Proven Hands-on experience and expert level knowledge in SAP S4 HANA/ECC ERP and Cloud technology Functional domains in some/all of the following areas in order to be able to support current and future Alcon business processes:

  • SAP On-promise and cloud

• Direct Purchasing (MM-PUR)

• Indirect Purchasing (SAP Ariba Upstream/B&I/P2O)

• Commerce Automation, Supply Chain Collaboration and related functions via SAP Business Network

• Invoicing and Accounts Payables (MM-LIV)

• SAP Concur T&E system

• Preferable knowledge in the following areas

  • Vendor Invoices Management (VIM)
  • Cloud based invoicing solutions like Appzen, Open Text etc.
  • Other related cloud based platforms facilitating specialized services for Procurement like Risk evaluation, Market Intelligence etc.

• Working experience with integration of various alien systems (SAP or non-SAP) to SAP-ERP through some form of middleware (e.g. CPI/SI/Mulesoft) required

• Basic technical competencies like IDOC, XML, JSON monitoring, RfC connectivity, ALE distribution model, Different type of WRICEF objects and their usage depending on functional need etc. required

• Excellent understanding of the master data settings such as Materials/Vendors/Customers/Business Partners/Info-records/Source List/Quota Arrangements etc. supporting the areas mentioned above is a must

• Good understanding of Life Sciences/Pharma/Medical devices and/or contact lenses industry along with FDA Computer System Validation processes is an advantage
