Job summary

SonicWall in Pune, India is seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to drive the frontend architecture of the Cloud Secure Edge Admin Console. You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and partner across teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise experiences.

You will work with TypeScript, React, ag-Grid, Highcharts, and Storybook, building data-intensive dashboards and analytics interfaces while advancing performance, accessibility, and developer productivity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience building enterprise web apps with ReactJS, Redux, React Query, and TypeScript.
• Experience driving frontend architecture and engineering standards across teams.
• Experience creating complex UIs, dashboards, and data visualizations with Highcharts/ag-Grid.

About the Role

We are looking for a Principal Frontend Engineer to drive the technical vision and frontend architecture of the Cloud Secure Edge Admin Console, the interface used by IT Administrators and Security teams to manage access policies, monitor devices, configure alerts, and analyze real-time connectivity. As a Principal Frontend Engineer, you will define long-term frontend strategy, establish engineering standards, influence product and platform direction, mentor senior engineers, and partner across multiple teams to deliver scalable, secure, performant, and intuitive enterprise experiences.

You will work with modern web technologies, including TypeScript, React, ag-Grid, Highcharts, Storybook, and our internal component library. This role is ideal for engineers who excel at solving large-scale architectural challenges, influencing technical direction across organizations, driving alignment in ambiguous situations, and elevating engineering excellence across teams.

What You'll Do

• Define and drive the frontend architecture and technical roadmap for Cloud Secure Edge.
• Lead the design and delivery of complex, scalable, secure, and high-performance frontend solutions.
• Establish engineering standards and best practices for performance, accessibility, quality, maintainability, and testing excellence.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Design, Security, and Platform teams to influence product and technology direction.
• Drive cross-team technical decisions and resolve complex architectural challenges.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, hands-on leadership, and engineering best practices.
• Build highly interactive, data-intensive user experiences using React, TypeScript, React Query, Redux, ag-Grid, Highcharts, and Storybook.
• Design and deliver complex dashboards, data visualizations, and enterprise-grade analytics experiences.
• Champion reusable frameworks, shared components, design systems, developer productivity, and operational excellence.
• Drive improvements in testing, CI/CD, observability, and frontend development practices.
• Lead initiatives focused on frontend performance optimization, including lazy loading, code splitting, tree shaking, caching strategies, and rendering optimizations to improve speed, responsiveness, and scalability.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise web applications, including specializing in large-scale, production-grade ReactJS, Redux, React Query, and TypeScript applications.
• Proven experience driving frontend architecture, technical strategy, and engineering standards across multiple teams.
• Proven experience designing and building highly complex UIs, data-intensive enterprise applications, advanced dashboards, and data visualizations using technologies such as Highcharts, ag-Grid, or similar frameworks.
• Deep expertise in frontend performance optimization, including lazy loading, code splitting, tree shaking, bundle optimization, rendering performance, and scalability best practices.
• Strong understanding of accessibility, security, scalability, reliability, and modern testing methodologies.
• Extensive experience developing and maintaining comprehensive unit, integration, and component test suites using frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, and related testing tools.
• Experience building and evolving design systems, component libraries, and shared frontend platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, influence technical decisions, and drive architectural outcomes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers, conducting technical reviews, and raising the engineering bar across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Cybersecurity, Networking, Zero Trust, SSE/SASE, or Cloud Security domains.
• Experience with micro-frontend architectures, frontend platform engineering, and large-scale distributed frontend ecosystems.
• Experience working in globally distributed engineering organizations.
• Experience implementing advanced frontend observability, monitoring, and performance measurement solutions.
• Experience building highly scalable data visualization platforms, analytics products, or security-focused dashboards handling large datasets.
