The Infor Technical Consultant at is responsible for supporting the implementation, configuration, integration, and testing of Infor solutions. This role involves leveraging foundational technical skills to solve problems, optimize processes, and contribute to project success while progressively developing expertise in moderately complex tasks. The consultant will work independently managing tasks and influencing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Specialist Advice

  • Demonstrate strong listening skills to understand user needs and resolve standard conflicts.
  • Solve routine problems to improve operational efficiency using technology.
  • Follow established procedures for technical implementations under routine guidance.
  • Administer and test computer databases, coordinating minor changes, and resolving moderately complex issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve integration/system challenges based on technical specifications.

Methods and Tools

  • Adapt to and apply basic tools and techniques for software development, testing, and operations.
  • Use templates and frameworks like Time to Value guidelines for data action labs and technical architecture.
  • Tailor processes to align with organizational standards and evaluate tools for improved efficiency.
  • Provide advice on the adoption of methodologies and assist in process improvement initiatives.

Systems Design

  • Follow standard design patterns and create simple system or component designs using organizational guidelines.
  • Document and organize design information for reference in future projects.
  • Develop detailed specifications for moderately complex systems and components.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create design views and functional prototypes, ensuring alignment with user needs.

Programming/Software Development

  • Design and code simple scripts and programs, adhering to agreed standards.
  • Test and document outcomes for basic software tasks.
  • Independently design moderately complex programs/scripts, monitor progress, and propose solutions to identified issues.
  • Collaborate in code reviews and identify areas for improvement.

Systems Integration and Build

  • Follow supplied instructions to configure target environments, conduct tests, and record results.
  • Assist in integrating basic system components and reporting risks/issues.
  • Produce software builds for moderately complex systems, ensuring integration and proper hardware/software configuration.
  • Participate in testing and troubleshooting integration builds, documenting results.

Testing

  • Design basic test cases and scripts, execute manual/automated testing, and document results.
  • Report identified risks and issues for resolution.
  • Assist in the design of detailed test plans, automate testing tasks, and analyse test performance.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify improvements in testing approaches.

Software Configuration

  • Assist in setting up standard software configurations and maintain documentation for changes.
  • Follow agreed standards to ensure minimal errors during deployment.
  • Design and verify moderately complex configurations, refactor where needed, and document results.
  • Collaborate in reviews of deployment outcomes.

Data Science

  • Apply data science techniques to analyse basic datasets and report findings.
  • Use standard frameworks and tools for structured data modelling under guidance.
  • Process and prepare new datasets for analysis using specialized programming techniques.
  • Evaluate model outcomes and recommend refinements to improve accuracy and insights.
  • Apply basic machine learning techniques, diagnose issues, and report findings.
  • Use standard libraries and frameworks to implement algorithms under guidance.
  • Apply existing techniques to train models and analyse performance, recommending improvements where needed.
  • Collaborate on deployment plans and monitor outcomes for optimization.
