Qualifications

Job Description

• As a Principal Engineering Analyst, you will provide deep technical leadership within SURF (Subsea Umbilicals, Risers, and Flowlines) domain, leading large and complex multi-disciplinary projects while independently making high-impact engineering decisions and recognizing when to engage senior leadership. This role is critical to Oceaneering’s delivery and growth strategy, acting as a single point of contact for assigned business units, influencing functional strategy, mentoring engineers and SMEs, and driving continuous improvement in engineering quality, processes, and customer value.
• We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement, enabling effective collaboration with global stakeholders while maintaining flexibility for focused technical leadership and strategic contribution across projects and functions.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required, to support multi-disciplinary project oversight, customer and business unit interactions, and enterprise-level technical initiatives.
  

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Engineering Analysts subsea SURF engineers on dynamic analysis of flexible flowlines .
• Lead multiple projects at the same time, including large and complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Direct teams of SURF engineers to enable them handle dynamic analysis projects effectively .
• Review work carried out by SURF engineers .
• Approve deliveries made by the team.
• Ensure compliance to established engineering processes.
• Define functional processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as account manager for one or more business units for subsea SURF projects.
• Communicate with business units to understand design and analysis requirements.
• Define scope of work, plan jobs, allocate resources, and share regular progress updates.
• Monitor performance against relevant KPIs and identify growth opportunities.
• Participate in governance meetings with business units.
• Approve engineering process documents and team timesheets.
• Prepare and conduct technical trainings.
• Maintain performance records and support performance management activities.
• Develop competency matrices and identify training needs.
• Provide engineering guidance to other disciplines.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and issues.
• Evaluate resource needs and provide recommendations.
• Work towards organizational objectives and ensure team members accomplish performance goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may be required to lead a team of Engineers / Engineering Analysts.

Education & Experience:

• Post Graduation (Master's degree) in Mechanical/Civil/Ocean/ Naval Architecture/ Subsea (or related) Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience, OR
  
• Graduation (Bachelor's degree) in Mechanical/Ocean/ Naval Architecture/ Subsea (or related) Engineering with minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

• Expert level knowledge of FEA and SURF Local and Global Analysis using relevant CAE software (e.g., OrcaFlex, UFlex, ANSYS, RISA, Sesam).
• Strong knowledge of multiple applicable industry codes and standards (ASME, DNV, API, AISC, etc.).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
