Job summary

WSP in India seeks an experienced transport modeller with strong junctions capacity modelling expertise to join a team serving UK private and public sector markets. You will work on transport models, junction design and analysis for UK and international projects in London and beyond.

The role offers opportunities to expand responsibilities, including project management and staff development in Bengaluru/Noida, building the India capability while supporting the UK lead development discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.
• Masters in Transport or equivalent.
• Good understanding of MS-Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Quality checks of data and model outputs;
• Research and review design options for both technical and economic impact;
• Support Project Managers for on time completion of tasks assigned and to WSP’s expected standards;
• Take ownership of tasks assigned and search for solutions where required;
• Support seniors in maintaining healthy contact with different UK offices for modelling and design rask;
• Zeal to grow self and dedication towards working independently/ with minimal guidance where required;
• Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies;
• Clear communication (verbal and written) with colleagues in India and the UK on all matters – project related technical communication and day-to-day matters;
• Work within project constraints; such as time, budget and resource; and
• Attend and contribute in team and project meetings;

Job description

• An experienced candidate with in-depth experience in Junctions Capacity Modelling (Junctions 9/ LinSig), Traffic Signals Design, Preliminary and concept road layout design is required to join our established team which serves the UK private development and public sector markets. The UK team offers clients a wide range of multi-disciplinary services including transport modelling of local junctions and signalised networks, pedestrians and regional / strategic transport systems.


• The appointed candidate will be supporting the successful teams which are working on a wide variety of high-profile projects in London, across the UK and internationally. They will be involved in the development and application of transport models, junction traffic junction design and analysis.


• The successful candidate would be expected to expand their role in the future to include management of projects and development / training of staff in Noida/ Bengaluru to grow the capability.

Desired Skills

• Understanding of fundamental modelling and design techniques, traffic signals operation and CAD standards, including modelling guidelines and CD / Local authority codes and standards.


• Previous experience and capability in Junction modelling, swept path analysis, parking design, signals and junction improvement scheme


• Paper presented at / published in recognised national / internal journal(s)/ conference(s) will be highly desirable;


• Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline.

Qualifications

Qualifications required

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering;


• Masters in Transport or equivalent; and


• Good understanding of MS-Office skills.

• Postgraduate with to up to 9+ years’ experience.
