Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Principal ICT Engineer to join the Building Technology Systems team. You will design IT networks within buildings, collaborate with MEP, Smart and AV teams, and develop holistic ICT solutions for future-ready buildings.

The role requires strong IT network design background, ability to interpret client requirements, and ability to work across multidisciplinary projects with technical leadership.

• You will be designing IT networks within buildings, alongside multiple design disciplines, implementing leading edge network designs and technologies into real world applications.
• You will liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand, develop, and interpret their requirements from concept stage through to detailed design, on multi-disciplinary design projects in coordination with Architects, Engineers, and specialist consultants
• Collaborate across WSP with specialists in areas like MEP, Smart, AV to develop holistic and comprehensive solutions.

Responsibilities

• A passion for the future of technology in the built environment.
• Experience in ICT design and project delivery of medium to large building projects
• Ability to produce detailed design and performance specification, subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
• Ability to carry out feasibility studies for review by colleagues prior to issue.
• Experience in producing detailed equipment schedules for issue with the discipline specific designs.
• Experience providing design and technical advice on projects lead by seniors or take a discipline lead role on smaller projects.
• Ability to work independently using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
• Ability to work under the clear direction of others and interpret the needs of a project where applicable to the discipline.
• CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience that will lead to Chartership.
• RevitMEP training applied to the discipline.
• Any accredited network qualification (such as Cisco certified accreditations or RCDD)
• Experience in some of the following areas:
• Ability to create and interpret technical documents including reports, diagrams, drawings and specifications.
• Excellent inter-personal skills, capable of communicating effectively with other members of the project team, stakeholders & clients.
• An understanding of specialist building systems including MEP, BMS, fire safety, lighting and security systems, the smart building technology aspects of deploying modern smart buildings
