Job summary

Persistent Systems seeks a Principal Software Engineer with deep expertise in Core .NET, SOLID, and design patterns to architect and deliver scalable enterprise applications in Pune. You will lead technical analysis, drive architecture, and mentor teams across Risk, Product Control, and ESG IT domains.

You will influence engineering direction, ensure clean, testable solutions, and contribute to code delivery while guiding peers on best practices and modern patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical analysis, design and development of applications, services, APIs, batch components and platform capabilities across Risk, Product Control and ESG IT.
• Act as a C# / .NET SME, setting engineering direction and ensuring solutions are clean, maintainable, testable and aligned to design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Contribute directly to code delivery while reviewing designs, pull requests and implementation approaches produced by other developers.
• Support delivery of CTB initiatives including new products, new features, methodology changes, platform enhancements and greenfield components.
• Apply and extend Asterisk patterns, including shared .NET libraries, reusable templates, orchestration, configuration, amendment services and operational dashboards.
• Support migration from Windows-hosted services to OpenShift, including containerization, deployment readiness, technical debt reduction and service modernization.
• Design and optimize integrations across MongoDB, SQL Server / data warehouse components, REST APIs, enterprise data sources and messaging platforms such as ActiveMQ.
• Coordinate development activity across internal and external resources, including work breakdown, estimation, sprint planning, technical triage and dependency management.
• Mentor developers and improve team capability in C#, .NET, Asterisk, OpenShift, MongoDB, SQL and engineering best practice.
• Ensure appropriate unit, integration, regression and system testing is applied, and support UAT, release preparation, cutover and early-life support.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Expert knowledge of C# and strong knowledge of .NET Framework, .NET Core and modern .NET.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, microservice architecture and scalable service design.
• Strong relational database and SQL skills, including design, optimization and data warehouse interaction.
• Strong document database knowledge, including MongoDB design and optimization.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs and integration patterns.
• Good knowledge of enterprise messaging, ideally ActiveMQ or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of unit testing, integration testing and automated delivery practices.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, source control and tooling such as JIRA, Bamboo, Git / Bitbucket and NuGet.
• OpenShift, Kubernetes or equivalent container platform experience is strongly desirable.
