Job summary

WSP in Bengaluru seeks a Principal Engineer (Flood Risk Modelling) to deliver flood modelling projects within our SWM Consulting (GCC) team. You will lead hydraulic and hydrological analyses using Flood Modeller Pro, Tuflow, Estry, HEC-RAS and Infoworks ICM 2D, provide technical support, and mentor junior colleagues to ensure quality client delivery.

A strong background in 1D/2D hydraulic and hydrological modelling, major flood alleviation schemes, highway projects and GIS tools is essential,

Qualifications

• Experience in 1D/2D hydraulic modelling and hydrological modelling.
• Experience with major flood alleviation schemes and highway projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK Water industry and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, resource and financial management, and mentoring while delivering flood modelling projects.
• Lead projects using hydraulic modelling and flood risk studies with standard software.
• Collaborate with junior colleagues to ensure accurate, efficient project delivery for clients.

Job description

As Principal Engineer (Flood Risk Modelling) within our SWM Consulting (GCC) team, you will take responsibility to provide technical support, resource & financial management, mentoring and independently deliver flood modelling projects to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery for internal and external clients.

The role requirement includes leading projects based on hydraulic modelling and flood risk based studies using industry standard software (Flood Modeller Pro, Tuflow, Estry, HEC-RAS, Infoworks ICM 2D) as well as other projects requiring detailed technical analysis and providing support to junior colleagues.

You will be expected to have a strong background/working knowledge on 1d-2d hydraulic modelling, hydrological modelling, major flood alleviation schemes, highway infrastructure projects and GIS based analytical tools with a thorough understanding of the UK Water industry and legislation.
