Job summary

Wood Plc in India seeks a senior Electrical Engineer to take single-point responsibility for design deliverables and drive coordination across disciplines. You will manage schedules, budgets, and technical queries while guiding junior engineers on complex projects.

The role requires BE/B.Tech in Electrical and professional certification preferred, with hands-on use of ETAP, CANECO and DIALUX in a project environment.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech.(Electrical) from reputed institution.
• Preferred candidate having Professional Engineer Certification.

Responsibilities

• Single-point responsibility for electrical engineering design deliverables and ensure conformance to codes and standards.
• Coordinate electrical team and report to Project or Engineering Manager on project matters.
• Support planning, scheduling and execution of discipline activities and manhour estimates.
• Originate new and revise existing engineering deliverables.
• Revise and check deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists.
• Manage discipline work to the required schedule and manpower allocation, including staffing requests and supervision.
• Manage and report progress of electrical engineering and design budgets and productivity.
• Identify areas of concern with progress or quality and recommend corrective actions.
• Attend weekly internal and external progress meetings and generate status reports.
• Engage with Licensors, Equipment Vendors and OEMs to conclude deliverables and provide budget costs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines during all design stages to avoid conflicts.
• Provide technical support to site for material inspection and FAT.
• Ensure compliance with change management processes both technical and financial.
• Provide direction on technical queries relating to electrical engineering and raise EQs/deviations.
• Participate in project safety and design reviews as necessary.
• Ensure all work is delivered on schedule and to quality.

Responsibilities:

1. To have single - point responsibility for all Electrical engineering design deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client s policies and procedures.
2. Coordination of Electrical team and reporting to Project or Engineering Manager on project related matters
3. Supporting the Planning, scheduling and execution of discipline activities and deliverables, including manhour estimating and schedule preparation to support bid / tendering as required.
4. Originate new and revise existing engineering deliverables.
5. Revise and check engineering deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists.
6. Manage discipline work to the required schedule and manpower allocation, including requesting personnel as identified by the plan, and day-to-day supervision of discipline personnel on the project.
7. Manage and report progress of all Electrical engineering and design budgets in line with contract requirements including weekly and cumulative productivity
8. To identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and / or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
9. To attend weekly internal and external progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering / Project Manager
10. Liaise and engage with Licensors, Equipment Vendors and OEM s as required to conclude the project deliverables in accordance with the project scope and provide third party budget costs for stage gate estimates as required.
11. To co - ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre - commissioning, and start - up to ensure there is no conflict within the overall engineering design.
12. To provide technical support to site in terms of material inspection, Factory Acceptance Testing etc
13. Ensure compliance with management of change processes both technical and financial
14. To provide direction and guidance on technical queries relating to mechanical engineering and raise appropriate EQ s / deviations.
15. To participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary
16. To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
