Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Engineer-Dry Utility (Infrastructure) to join our Energy team in India. The role focuses on leading electrical design activities across EHV, HV, MV, LV systems, street lighting, telecom and ICT networks, with exposure to projects outside India.

The candidate will mentor junior engineers and deliver primary design elements within budget and schedule. We expect a Master of Engineering and 10–13 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Dialux, AGI, Lighting

Qualifications

• Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• 10–13 years experience, preferably outside India on Middle East, UK, USA, Canada & ANZ region.
• Experience in Electrical (EHV, HV, MV, LV), Street Lighting, Telecom, ELV, ICT Network, Pump station, Water Treatment Plant, EV charging Station, Substation, Power Transmission & Distribution.
• Design calculations: Street lighting, High Mast Area Lighting, Cable sizing, Voltage drop, Earthing, Fault level, Corridor sizing.
• Software: Dialux, AGI, Lighting Reality, Amtech, ETAP.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests.
• Identifies discrepancies and proposes approaches to solve problems.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work within budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently completes primary design elements for engineering works.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to impactful Energy projects across global offices and continue developing their technical expertise in a supportive, high-performing team.

• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignements.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:

• Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• 10-13Years (Exposure to outside India projects preferably Middle East,UK, USA, Canada & ANZ region)
• Preparation, Review and production of Electrical (EHV, HV, MV, LV), Street Lighting, Telecom, ELV, ICT Network, Pump station,Water Treatment Plant, EV charging Station, Substation, Power Transmission & Distribution network
• Design Calculation: Street lighting, High Mast Area Lighting, Cable sizing & Voltage drop, Earthing, Fault level, Corridor sizing
• Software: Dialux, AGI, Lighting Reality, Amtech, ETAP
