Job summary

HARMAN Automotive is seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect to drive architecture, technical strategy and the innovation roadmap for next‑generation automotive connectivity. You will define end‑to‑end architectures spanning vehicle, cloud, mobile and backend ecosystems.

Lead architecture reviews, set standards and governance, and collaborate with OEM customers to deliver scalable, secure connected vehicle platforms and guide multiple delivery teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related engineering field.
• 8+ years in embedded and automotive software development.
• 8+ years in system/software architecture roles.
• Proven experience architecting large-scale automotive connectivity platforms.
• Strong expertise in Linux and Autosar based automotive software platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-connected vehicle ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end architecture for connected vehicle and telematics platforms.
• Architect solutions across: TCUs, CCUs, Vehicle-to-Cloud, OTA updates, Remote Vehicle Services, eCall/bCall, Mobile App ecosystems.
• Establish architecture principles, standards, design patterns, and reusable frameworks.
• Lead architecture reviews and governance across multiple programs.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect to drive the architecture, technical strategy, and innovation roadmap for next-generation automotive connectivity solutions. The role requires a strong blend of system-level thinking, software architecture expertise, customer-facing leadership, and deep domain knowledge in connected vehicle platforms.

As a senior technical leader, you will define end-to-end architectures spanning vehicle, cloud, mobile, and backend ecosystems while guiding multiple development teams across global delivery centers. The role is expected to shape technical direction, support business growth, mentor architects, and serve as a trusted advisor to OEM customers.

What You Will Do

• Define end-to-end system architecture for connected vehicle and telematics platforms.
• Architect solutions across:
  • Telematics Control Units (TCU)
  • Connectivity Control Units (CCU)
  • Vehicle-to-Cloud Communication
  • OTA Update Systems
  • Remote Vehicle Services
  • eCall/bCall Systems
  • Mobile Application Ecosystems
• Establish architecture principles, standards, design patterns, and reusable frameworks.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical governance across multiple programs.

What Makes You Eligible

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded and automotive software development.
• 8+ years of experience in system/software architecture roles.
• Proven experience architecting large-scale automotive connectivity platforms.
• Strong expertise in Linux and Autosar based automotive software platforms.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-connected vehicle ecosystems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills.
