Job summary

WSP in India is seeking an EICA Associate to lead and manage electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation design within the Water sector, aligned with UK regulations and best practices. You will supervise design work and coordinate with UK and Indian teams to deliver complex projects.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and mentoring of junior engineers, with responsibilities spanning project briefs, resource planning, quality assurance, and KPI reporting across India

Qualifications

• The applicant should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body.
• The applicant will have proven experience in the design of EICA Engineering.
• Must be conversant with technical electrical software, such as EOM, Dialux.
• A member of an appropriate professional institute (Chartered or working towards).
• Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
• A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and project is essential.

As an EICA Associate at WSP you will lead and manage, design projects within the Water sector. You will be responsible for overseeing EICA engineering design work and ensuring compliance with best practices and UK regulations.

Responsibilities

• Regularly communicate and update the local Indian and wider UK project teams on programme delivery and quality issues through use of staff utilisation charts and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting etc.
• Ensure all company standards & efficient working practices are adopted.
• Maintain an overview & understanding of the team workload & associated resource requirements, and work with other team leaders to ensure resources are fully utilised, identify & address effectively any surplus or shortfall in available staff.
• The successful candidate will be a dynamic self‑motivated individual who will take on a Leadership role in project work, focused on delivery to the client and technical excellence.
• The role requires management of a number of projects and becoming involved in design at an early stage.
• The role includes project‑resource management, mentoring and coaching junior members of the team. The ability to plan and design deliverables against British Engineering standards for each stage of a project is a pre‑requisite.
• Lead the design process, set clear goals and monitor their progress closely and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost‑effective solutions to the agreed programme; support those more inexperienced by technical review, mentoring and advice.
• Lead from the front accepting design challenges and giving them due consideration with the support of others to achieve resolution.
