Job summary

WSP India is seeking an EICA Associate to lead and manage water-sector projects. You will oversee EICA engineering design work and ensure compliance with best practices and UK regulations, coordinating across India and UK teams.

The role requires leadership, mentoring of junior engineers, and strong English communication. You will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment across India offices and client sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and membership to an accredited engineering body.
• Proven experience in the design of EICA engineering.
• Fluent in English with excellent technical terminology.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and project management tools.
• Familiarity with electrical software such as EOM and Dialux.

Responsibilities

• Agree the project brief, deliverables and programme.
• Coordinate India resources to complete the project brief on time and cost.
• Ensure design quality to WSP India and UK regulations; include complex calculations and coordination.
• Communicate progress to local and UK project teams using KPI reporting and staffing plans.
• Lead the design process and mentor junior team members to deliver cost-effective solutions.

As an EICA Associate at WSP you will lead and manage, design projects within the Water sector. You will be responsible for overseeing EICA engineering design work and ensuring compliance with best practices and UK regulations.

Responsibilities

• Agree and confirm the project brief to anticipate and identify needs and expectations in conjunction with others.
• Agree the project deliverables and programme.
• Agree the resource in India that will be required to undertake the designs to complete the project brief in time and cost.
• Agree the project fees according to brief, resource required and programme.
• Be responsible for the quality of detailed design to WSP in India and UK Regulations standards ensuring technical reviews and sign off including complex calculations and co-ordination issues.
• Ensure design are co-ordinated and due consideration of Health & Safety, Construction Design Management and Quality Assurance standards.
• Regularly communicate and update the local Indian and wider UK project teams on programme delivery and quality issues through use of staff utilisation charts and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting etc.
• Ensure all company standards & efficient working practices are adopted.
• Maintain an overview & understanding of the team workload & associated resource requirements, and work with other team leaders to ensure resources are fully utilised, identify & address effectively any surplus or shortfall in available staff.
• The successful candidate will be a dynamic self-motivated individual who will take on a Leadership role in project work, focused on delivery to the client and technical excellence.
• The role requires management of a number of projects and becoming involved in design at an early stage.
• The role includes project-resource management, mentoring and coaching junior members of the team. The ability to plan and design deliverables against British Engineering standards for each stage of a project is a pre-requisite.
• Lead the design process, set clear goals and monitor their progress closely and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions to the agreed programme; support those more inexperienced by technical review, mentoring and advice.
• Lead from the front accepting design challenges and giving them due consideration with the support of others to achieve resolution.

Qualifications

• The applicant should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body.
• The applicant will have proven experience in the design of EICA Engineering.
• Must be conversant with technical electrical software, such as EOM, Dialux.
• A member of an appropriate professional institute (Chartered or working towards).
• Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
• A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and project is essential.
