Job description

Job Purpose

Investment & Distribution Services (IDS) provides global, end-to-end trade processing, portfolio operations, data management, and reconciliation to support Invesco’s investment activities. The group’s mission is to deliver high-quality service through disciplined operations, provide responsive support for the investment process and new products/instruments, adapt to evolving economic, regulatory, and risk environments, and ensure the delivery of high-quality data aligned with “SMART” data principles. Within IDS, the Portfolio Services function operates on a follow-the-sun model, delivering 6x24 global support to business partners. The team serves as the first line of support, connecting stakeholders with IDS Service Delivery. It facilitates the resolution of complex, cross-region, cross-team, and cross-vendor issues. Additionally, Portfolio Services is responsible for Cash Management Services oversight and assurance, while providing value-added insights into the integrity of Investment Book of Record (IBOR) related business data. The incumbent must self-manage day‑to‑day work, appropriately escalating issues, developing knowledge of team processes, supporting cross‑functional activities, contributing to internal and cross‑functional projects, assisting with research and analysis, documenting outcomes, providing support for team communications and training materials, collaborating with global team members, assuming responsibility for production issues, and participating in daily production support activities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support and input on solutions and recommendations to address complex, cross-region, cross-functional, and cross-vendor business concerns.
Assist in the resolution of critical production issues, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Contribute to subject matter expertise development and support escalation processes as required.
Provide support and guidance to colleagues in day‑to‑day operations and production support tasks when called upon.
Liaise and build strong business relationships with key stakeholders such as Investments, Compliance, Service Providers (Custodians, Fund Accounting Agents, Transfer Agents, Outsourcing Vendors, etc.) and global business areas within Invesco requiring support on cash‑related concerns.
Support and coordinate the research, analysis, implementation, documentation and training of new business requirements/projects (e.g. new instruments, mandating or mandating regulatory requirements, new system implementations) globally across multiple IDS global functions and service providers.
Develop & execute team plans, including business, production and organizational priorities.
Set priorities, recommend resources, and develop policies aligned with the team’s goals and objectives to drive business success.
Represent IDS Portfolio Services as a subject‑matter expert in cross‑functional and global projects.
Facilitate discussions to build consensus and agreement with a win‑win focus.
Collaborate with project team members across functions and locations to support a positive project environment and help achieve objectives.
Establish and continually refine a global support and oversight model while ensuring regional business needs are addressed.
Document standard operating procedures and cross‑train the global team.
Conduct independent research, review and analysis of financial statements, organisational structure, business model, operational risks, performance, and securities issued by organisations as required.
Propagate ideas, research and recommend continuous improvement opportunities (e.g. streamlining/automating daily operations).
Identify potential operational risks, recommend mitigation strategies and lead implementation of agreed mitigation strategy.

Work Experience / Knowledge

Overall, 10‑12 years and a minimum 3‑5 years of industry experience in an Investment Management firm.
Excellent knowledge of investment products globally is required.
Comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards and principles.
Proven ability to identify and resolve complex, multi‑dimensional business problems using broad functional and process knowledge.
Preferred experience with business applications such as Charles River and Aladdin.
Basic understanding of end‑to‑end investment services processes (trade entry, trade processing, settlement, valuation, cash management, corporate actions processing, and fund accounting).
Experience working with third‑party middle office and custody providers is a plus.
Must maintain a big‑picture perspective and knowledge of data, processes and business flows across systems.

Working Conditions

May be required to participate in business recovery testing on an as‑needed basis.
Overtime, off‑hours support and travel may be required.
