Role Overview

Principal SAP ABAP Consultant – Lead end‑to‑end technical development and innovation across SAP landscapes, driving ABAP on HANA expertise, Fiori, VIM, SAP Hybris integration, system monitoring, and leadership.

Location: Hyderabad / Bangalore (3 months hybrid then remote).

Years of Experience: 14+

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SAP ABAP development activities for implementations, rollouts, and support projects.
• Translate business/functional requirements into scalable and innovative technical solutions.
• Design and develop RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
• Drive adoption of ABAP on HANA capabilities – CDS Views, AMDPs, RAP, performance tuning.
• Lead development and integration involving Fiori (UI5/Gateway/OData), Vendor Invoice Management (VIM), and SAP Hybris.
• Oversee system monitoring and proactively resolve performance and production issues.
• Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and enforce SAP best practices.
• Mentor, coach, and lead teams of ABAP developers, including offshore/onshore coordination.
• Collaborate closely with Basis, Security, and Functional teams to ensure smooth technical operations.
• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge‑sharing across the team.
• Support Agile/Scrum delivery and contribute to presales, solutioning, and technical roadmaps as required.

Technical Skills Required

• Core ABAP: Reports (Classical, Interactive), Dialog Programming, Module Pool.
• OO ABAP, Enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Points).
• Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, SAP Scripts.
• IDOCs, ALE, RFCs, BAPIs, BDC, interface programming.
• ABAP on HANA (CDS, AMDP, RAP) with performance optimization.
• Fiori/UI5, OData services, Gateway development.
• OpenText VIM implementation and support.
• Integration with SAP Hybris (Commerce/Marketing/Order Management).
• System monitoring tools and processes for SAP landscapes.
• SAP Workflow development and troubleshooting.
