Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms. This role requires deep technical expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP, combined with strategic vision to drive cloud adoption and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, guiding architecture decisions that enable business agility, operational excellence, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive multi-cloud architectures that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Develop cloud adoption strategies, migration roadmaps, and governance frameworks that ensure security, compliance, and cost optimization across AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms.
  • Establish architectural standards and best practices for cloud-native application development and infrastructure management.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead architecture review boards, evaluate emerging technologies, and make strategic recommendations on cloud services and tooling.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to translate business requirements into scalable, resilient technical solutions.
  • Architect and implement infrastructure automation solutions using Terraform and related IaC tools.
  • Design CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks that enable rapid, reliable deployments across multiple cloud environments.
  • Leverage Rundeck for workflow automation and orchestration of complex operational processes.
  • Integrate artificial intelligence capabilities into cloud architectures, including experience with AWS AgentCore, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and other AI/ML services across cloud platforms.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency, security, and business intelligence.
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to organizational needs.
  • Design and implement artifact management strategies using JFrog Artifactory and related tools.
  • Establish best practices for package management, version control, and software distribution across multi-cloud environments.
  • Ensure secure, efficient handling of artifacts throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Embed security best practices into cloud architecture designs, implementing defense-in-depth strategies and zero-trust principles.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and corporate policies across all cloud platforms.
  • Design and implement identity and access management solutions, encryption strategies, and security monitoring frameworks.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement cloud financial management practices and provide recommendations for resource optimization.
  • Design solutions that balance performance requirements with budgetary constraints.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 10-15 years of progressive experience in enterprise IT architecture, with at least 5 years focused on multi-cloud environments. Demonstrated success leading complex cloud transformation initiatives and architectural modernization programs.
Cloud Platform Expertise
  • Deep proficiency in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including advanced services across compute, storage, networking, security, and managed services.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing production workloads on all three major cloud platforms.
Infrastructure as Code
  • Expert-level proficiency with Terraform for multi-cloud infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure automation principles, state management, and modular architecture design.
Automation & Orchestration
  • Practical experience with Rundeck for workflow automation and job scheduling.
  • Familiarity with additional orchestration tools and frameworks that enable operational efficiency.
Artifact Management
  • Working knowledge of JFrog Artifactory for artifact repository management, including repository configuration, access control, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
AI Technologies
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies, including AWS AgentCore, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and AI/ML services across cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of how to architect solutions that incorporate AI capabilities.
Technical Skills
  • Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
  • Extensive experience with containerization and container orchestration across all major cloud platforms, including Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), Azure AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), and Google GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine).
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, deployment patterns, service mesh technologies, and microservices architectures.
  • Expertise in networking principles, security frameworks, and DevOps methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect).
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
  • Experience with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization frameworks.
  • Background in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman).
  • Experience with observability platforms and monitoring solutions.
  • Prior experience in the commercial real estate or professional services industry.
