Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking a Principal Engineer – CAD to develop and deploy frontend and backend tools for Digital Designs in a global CAD team. You will own CAD solution components and engage with customers worldwide, applying strong EDA expertise and scripting to automate RTL-to-GDS flows.

The role requires a deep background in RTL-to-GDS using Synopsys/Cadence, with hands-on development, debugging, and deployment experience.

Qualifications

• BTech/MTech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 15+ years of experience in EDA/CAD.
• Expertise in Synopsys/Cadence RTL to GDS digital design flow (synthesis, implementation, STA).
• Strong scripting skills (Tcl, Perl, Python) for automation of RTL to GDS flows.
• Strong communication, problem solving, teamwork, detail orientation and quality focus.

Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Engineer – CAD to develop and deploy Frontend and Backend tools and flows for Digital Designs done in the company. This role is part of the global CAD team.

Job Description

• Own some part of the overall CAD solution and be responsible for WW engagement with customers.
• Good understanding of Digital Implementation Methodologies.
• Hands-on in development & debug of CAD flows and with industry leading EDA tools in Digital Designs
• Proactively engage with customers through regular follow-ups, tool training sessions, and consistent support throughout the entire deployment process.
• Hands-on in mature software development practices, leading programming languages for potential AI/ML development tasks
• Expected to work in a dynamic design environment
• Evaluate EDA tools and flows for improved design efficiency and turnaround time
• Experienced in leading small team.

Qualifications

• BTech/MTech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 15+years of experience inEDA/CAD.
• Expertise in Synopsys/Cadence RTL to GDS digital design flow.

• Strong scripting skills (Tcl, Perl, Python) for automation of RTL to GDS digital design flow (e.g., synthesis, implementation tools and STA flows)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving, teamwork, attention to detail, commitment to task, and quality focus
• Can – do attitude,openness to new environment, people and culture

• Strong drive & ability to coordinate work across highly experienced global teams
