Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks a Principal Engineer – CAD to lead and deploy Frontend and Backend tools for Digital Designs. You will own CAD components, engage with customers worldwide, and work on mature-node flows (22nm, 12nm) using Synopsys/Cadence tools.

Strong scripting and leadership are essential in a dynamic design environment. You will coordinate with global teams, drive automation, and contribute to AI/ML tasks as needed, shaping the future of digital design within Renesas’ embedded

Qualifications

• BTech/MTech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 15+ years of experience in EDA/CAD.
• Proven experience in supporting mature-node technologies (e.g., 22nm, 12nm).
• Expertise in Synopsys/Cadence RTL to GDS digital design flow (synthesis, implementation, STA).
• Strong scripting skills (Tcl, Perl, Python) for automation of RTL to GDS flows.
• Strong communication skills, problem solving, teamwork, attention to detail, quality focus.
• Can-do attitude, openness to new environment and culture.
• Ability to propose innovative and leading-edge solutions.
• Strong drive to coordinate work across global teams.

• Own part of the overall CAD solution and WW engagement with customers.
• Understand Digital Implementation Methodologies.
• Hands-on development and debugging of CAD flows with industry leading EDA tools.

We are seeking a Principal Engineer – CAD to develop and deploy Frontend and Backend tools and flows for Digital Designs done in the company. This role is part of the global CAD team.

Job Description

• Own some part of the overall CAD solution and be responsible for WW engagement with customers.
• Good understanding of Digital Implementation Methodologies.
• Hands-on in development & debug of CAD flows and with industry leading EDA tools in Digital Designs
• Proactively engage with customers through regular follow-ups, tool training sessions, and consistent support throughout the entire deployment process.
• Hands-on in mature software development practices, leading programming languages for potential AI/ML development tasks
