Job summary

Renesas is seeking a Principal CAD Engineer to develop and deploy frontend and backend tools for digital designs. You will own parts of the CAD solution and engage with customers globally, driving deployment and optimization of RTL to GDS flows using Synopsys and Cadence tools.

The role requires 15+ years in EDA/CAD, strong scripting (Tcl, Python, Perl), and leadership of small teams in a dynamic design environment. Bengaluru-based, on-site role with global collaboration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in EDA/CAD.
• Proven experience with mature-node technologies (e.g., 22nm, 12nm).
• Expertise in RTL to GDS digital design flow (synthesis, implementation, STA).
• Strong scripting skills to automate RTL to GDS flows (Tcl, Perl, Python).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
• Open to new environment and global collaboration.
• Ability to propose innovative and leading-edge solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own some part of the overall CAD solution and be responsible for WW engagement with customers.

• Good understanding of Digital Implementation Methodologies.

• Hands-on in development & debug of CAD flows and with industry leading EDA tools in Digital Designs

• Proactively engage with customers through regular follow-ups, tool training sessions, and consistent support throughout the entire deployment process.

• Hands-on in mature software development practices, leading programming languages for potential AI/ML development tasks

• Expected to work in a dynamic design environment

• Evaluate EDA tools and flows for improved design efficiency and turnaround time

• Experienced in leading small team.

Qualifications
