Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an accomplished DevOps leader to architect and deliver enterprise‑grade automation across the full application lifecycle in an Azure‑heavy environment. You will drive self‑service provisioning, robust CI/CD pipelines, and scalable tooling while partnering with SRE, CloudOps, Security, and IT to enforce resilient infrastructure.

The role requires hands‑on Kubernetes and container orchestration experience, plus strong scripting in PowerShell and Python.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering or DevOps leadership experience.
• 7+ years designing DevOps architecture on Azure‑heavy Microsoft platforms.
• Mastery of CI/CD pipelines: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TFS.
• Hands‑on with Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker/Helm.
• Backend automation with PowerShell and Python (FastAPI or similar).
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK).
• Strong security, multi‑tenant resilience, and rollback strategy understanding.
• Excellent communication to influence stakeholders.
• Azure Solutions or Azure DevOps related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and delivery of enterprise‑grade DevOps automation, tooling, and platform architecture across the full application lifecycle.
• Craft secure, scalable, and maintainable DevOps solutions, enabling product teams to self‑service environment provisioning, builds, and deployments.
• Define architectural standards and best practices for DevOps toolchains including GitOps and Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TFS pipelines.
• Architect robust infrastructure templates and provisioning patterns using IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, and ARM templates.
• Enable lifecycle management of container workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm ensuring scalable deployments and rollout strategies.
• Build and expose internal tooling and APIs (via PowerShell, Python + FastAPI or equivalents) to accelerate platform capabilities and developer productivity.
• Incorporate observability and visibility by integrating monitoring/CMDB tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, AppInsights).
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with SRE, CloudOps, Security, and IT to enforce resilient, compliant, and scalable infrastructure patterns.
• Lead incident response, technical root cause analysis, and continuous improvements to pipeline stability and rollback mechanisms.
• Champion reusable toolkits and DevOps frameworks that promote consistency, speed, and reliability across global engineering teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years in software engineering, platform architecture, or DevOps leadership roles, with proven enterprise‑grade delivery.
• 7+ years designing DevOps architecture in Azure‑heavy, Microsoft‑technology platforms.
• Mastery of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, TFS), GitOps principles, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, ARM).
• Hands‑on experience in container orchestration with Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker/Helm deployments.
• Strong backend/API automation experience using PowerShell and Python (FastAPI or similar).
• Skilled in monitoring and observability integrations (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK).
• Solid understanding of platform security, compliance, multi‑tenant resilience, and rollback strategies.
• Excellent communicator capable of influencing Product Engineering, CloudOps, SRE, and executive stakeholders.
• Certifications such as Azure Solutions, Azure DevOps, or relevant cloud IaC certifications preferred.
