Job summary

Tiger Analytics is seeking a senior principal Data Governance Architect to lead enterprise-wide governance programs and guide client engagements across data catalogs, lineage, and quality. You will mentor teams and collaborate with AI groups to deploy scalable governance across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

The role requires deep experience in governance platforms, strong stakeholder communication, and a track record of pre-sales and advisory work.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of overall experience in Data Management, Data Engineering, Analytics, or Enterprise Data Platforms.
• 10+ years of experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale Data Governance solutions.
• Proven experience leading governance strategy, architecture, consulting, and transformation programs.
• Strong experience in client-facing consulting, stakeholder management, and executive communication.
• Demonstrated experience in RFPs, RFIs, solutioning, proposal creation, and pre-sales activities.
• Hands-on experience with Data Governance platforms such as Alation, Collibra, Atlan, Purview, Unity Catalog, Informatica IDMC, Ataccama, Securiti.ai, Immuta, OpenMetadata, or equivalent solutions.
• Deep understanding of Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Profiling, Data Lineage, Governance Automation, and Data Stewardship.
• Experience implementing governance solutions across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data ecosystems.
• Knowledge of AI Governance, GenAI-driven metadata management, and modern data architecture concepts is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide Data Governance strategy, architecture, and roadmap definition for large-scale data transformation initiatives.
• Own the full lifecycle of Data Governance programs, including assessment, solution design, implementation, adoption, and optimization.
• Architect scalable governance solutions covering metadata management, data catalog, lineage, data quality, privacy, security, and compliance.
• Advise CDOs, CIOs, and senior business stakeholders on governance operating models, stewardship frameworks, and governance best practices.
• Drive architecture and implementation across cloud ecosystems including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Lead technical solutioning, proposal development, RFP/RFI responses, estimations, and client presentations for strategic opportunities.
• Build reusable governance accelerators, frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with business consultants, data engineers, architects, analysts, and AI teams to deliver integrated data and AI solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies in Data Governance, AI Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Observability.
• Support account growth, new business acquisition, and executive-level client engagements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop teams of architects, governance consultants, and engineers.
• Drive innovation, thought leadership, and capability development within the Data Governance practice.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Data Governance Senior/Principal Architect, your work is a combination of hands‑on contribution, customer engagement, and technical team management including assisting in getting new business. Overall, you’ll design, architect, deploy, and maintain big data‑based data governance solutions.

More specifically, this will involve:

• Leading enterprise‑wide Data Governance strategy, architecture, and roadmap definition for large‑scale data transformation initiatives.

Expertise and Qualification

• Expertise in enterprise‑scale Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Lineage, and Data Privacy solutions.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse, and modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience defining governance operating models, policies, standards, and adoption frameworks.
• Understanding of Data Mesh, Data Products, and modern data management principles.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and governance automation.
• Exposure to Python, AI/ML, and GenAI technologies will be an added advantage.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
