Overview
Principal Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer focusing on high-performance analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters. The successful candidate will perform high-performance transistor-level design from initial specification through design and layout supervision, silicon evaluation and characterization to final product introduction to market. US based start-up founded by industry veterans who have PhDs from MIT and Stanford.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-performance analog and mixed-signal IC development in advanced CMOS processes.
- Design and supervise transistor-level blocks and finalize layout in collaboration with layout teams.
- Evaluate silicon on bench and characterize devices to ensure performance targets.
- Develop building blocks such as bandgap references, op-amps, comparators, oscillators, DLLs, PLLs, and other high-speed, high-resolution DAC/ADC techniques.
- Ensure designs go into production with appropriate verification, validation, and documentation.
- Perform noise, mismatch, and parasitic analyses to optimize circuit performance.
- Utilize analog and digital behavioral modeling and/or synthesis of digital control blocks.
- Familiar with Cadence schematic capture, Virtuoso, Spectre and/or HSPICE for circuit simulations.
- Consider electromigration and ESD compliance in submicron CMOS processes; be mindful of layout parasitics and layout-dependent impairments.
- Work independently, create and adhere to schedules; communicate effectively with geographically distributed teams.
