Principal Engineer, AI Job Description

The Senior Architect is responsible for defining and leading the organization's technology architecture strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. This role provides technical leadership across complex projects, guides technology investments, drives innovation, and establishes architectural standards and governance. The Senior Architect serves as a recognized expert, collaborating with business and technology leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions while influencing enterprise-wide technology direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design AI systems, enterprise architectures, and technical solutions aligned with long-term business objectives.
• Lead architecture and design of shared software frameworks, platforms, and components.
• Partner with business leaders, technology teams, and project managers to align technology initiatives with organizational strategy.
• Evaluate, select, and implement emerging technologies and architectural solutions.
• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, best practices, governance frameworks, and design principles.
• Analyze and validate technology architectures, balancing business requirements, cost considerations, and technical capabilities.
• Lead complex technical projects and provide architectural oversight across multiple initiatives.
• Serve as a technical domain expert and advisor on application and infrastructure development.
• Drive innovation by identifying transformational technology opportunities and communicating their business impact.
• Participate in due diligence activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Provide architectural leadership for technology strategy, roadmaps, and investment decisions.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and technical teams while promoting knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges through a holistic, cross-functional approach.
• Create and deliver technical presentations, white papers, training materials, and executive communications.
• Stay current on technology trends, competitive threats, market developments, and customer needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technology leadership roles.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, infrastructure architecture, cloud technologies, and system integration.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex, scalable enterprise systems.
• Strong experience with architecture governance, technology standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and adopting emerging technologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams and managing complex projects.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience influencing senior leadership and driving strategic technology initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, and data-driven architecture solutions.
• Experience in technology due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
• Industry-recognized architecture or cloud certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience managing architecture teams or leading enterprise-wide transformation programs.
• Experience developing technical patents, architectural standards, or published technical thought leadership.
• Proven track record of driving large-scale modernization, innovation, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Recognition as an industry expert through speaking engagements, publications, or professional contributions.
