Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering required.
• 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in substation design.
• Experience with IEC/IEEE/NESC standards preferred.
• Strong design and calculations skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS substations from 33kV to 765kV.
• Create designs to support detailed drawings including GA plans, elevations, and layouts.
• Perform design calculations using CDEGS, ETAP, WinIGS, Mathcad, and Dialux.
• Select equipment and size transformers, cables, and busbars.
• Review designs, coordinate with clients, and ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/NESC.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS substations from 33kV to 765kV
• Prepare designs to support detailed engineering drawings, including General Arrangement Plans, Elevations, Connection Details (Erection Key Diagrams), above- and below-grade conduit layouts and connection details, grounding layouts and connection details, lighting and lightning protection systems with respective details, Control House layout, and Bill of Materials
• Prepare design calculations such as Lighting, lightning Protection, Grounding, Cable Sizing, and Conduit fill calculation using industry-standard software such as CDEGS, ETAP, WinIGS, Mathcad, and Visual Lighting / Dialux
• Perform equipment selection and sizing calculations (transformers, cables, busbars, etc.)
• Review designs, attend virtual meetings, and coordinate with Clients
• Produce detailed electrical substation design packages compliant with the required client technical standards or IEC/IEEE/NESC
• Develop and improve processes and tools, and/or implement new technologies and automation into the design process
• Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers
• Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and engineering judgment in resolving problems
• Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be asked of this position by management
• Participate in training/meetings to address specific organizational initiatives
