Job summary

Actemium India is seeking a Primary Design Engineer to prepare complete engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, with a focus on substation facilities, layouts, earthings, and protection schemes. You will work on tender/budget drawings and support customer clarifications.

You should have a BE in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years in substation design, strong CAD skills (MicroStation/AutoCAD), and familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards. Teamwork and deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in substation design.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as MicroStation/AutoCAD with IEC/IEEE standards knowledge.
• Knowledge of substation design activities, tendering and P&C concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical substations including layout, earthing, and protection schemes.
• Prepare drawings, BoM, and technical data sheets for tenders and projects.
• Review, validate, and obtain approvals for designs and drawings.
• Support tendering with technical offers and vendor enquiries.
• Participate in site visits and FAT/SAT as required.

PRIMAR DESIGN ENGINEER-

Job Description:

1. Preparation of all Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE.
2. Design of electrical substation facilities including site and bus work layouts, earthing, foundations, controls & protection, metering, and equipment drawings for projects.
3. Substation layouts and section drawings preparation for budgetary offers / tenders / projects based on customer specification.
4. Basic understanding of secondary design aspects of substations, such as CT VT Sizing, Protection & Control schemes, Interlocking, Telecommunication, etc.
5. Adequate understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery & Battery Charger Sizing, etc
6. Prepare, review, and validate Bill of material for tenders or projects based on requirement.
7. Responsible for all design calculations related to Primary Engineering.
8. Grounding system design, drawings, and Bill of Materials.
9. Lightning system design, drawings, BoM and Lighting system design and BoM.
10. Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc
11. FAT / SAT of primary equipment, system as and when needed.
12. Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawings.
13. Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications.
14. Estimation support such as preparing conceptual drawings, sending enquiries, getting technically compliant and competitive offers from vendors, offer evaluation at tender stage.
15. Site visit for tender support as and when required.

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Exp 4 to 12 years (Minimum 4+ years exp in substation design)
• Proficiency in required CAD design tools (MicroStation / AutoCAD), Knowledge of relevant international standards ex: IEEE, IEC etc.
• Knowledge in substation design engineering activities & tendering support.
• Broad understanding of Protection and Control (P&C), SAS / SCS / SCADA, Metering, Telecom, Tele-protection.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships.
• Working hours’ flexibility to meet deadlines.
