Job summary

Testing Grounds in Mumbai seeks a Prepress Executive with hands-on experience in the printing and packaging industry, focusing on cartons, laminates, flexibles, and pouches. You will prepare and check artwork to ensure print-ready files for production.

The candidate should be skilled in Gravure and Flexographic printing, CMYK and Pantone colour management, and proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Esko packaging software.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Printing Technology, Packaging Technology, Graphic Design or Prepress.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in prepress, artwork, printing, or packaging.
• Hands-on experience in Gravure and Flexographic printing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process artwork for cartons, laminates, flexible packaging, pouches, and other printed packaging.
• Check artwork for dimensions, bleed, resolution, fonts, dyelines, trapping, overprinting, and registration.
• Prepare print-ready files and colour separations for Flexo and Gravure printing.
• Handle CMYK, Pantone/Spot Colours, colour separation, and colour matching.
• Check artwork for surface/reverse printing, lamination, sealing areas, cutting lines, creasing, perforation, and other packaging specifications.
• Ensure correct placement of text, logos, barcodes, QR codes, and regulatory information.
• Conduct preflight checks and identify technical issues before production.
• Coordinate with Design, QC, Production, and Cylinder/Plate teams for artwork-related requirements.
• Manage artwork revisions, approvals, and maintain proper file versions.
• Ensure only the latest approved artwork is released for production.
• Identify potential printing issues and resolve them before production.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing and checking artwork to ensure accurate, print‑ready files for production.

• Good knowledge of Gravure and Flexographic Printing.
• Strong understanding of CMYK, Pantone/Spot Colours, trapping, overprinting, and colour separation.
• Knowledge of laminates, flexible packaging, pouches, and cartons.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Knowledge of Esko or other packaging prepress software will be an added advantage.

• Diploma/Degree in Printing Technology, Packaging Technology, Graphic Design, Prepress, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in prepress, artwork, printing, or packaging.
• Hands‑on experience in Gravure and Flexographic printing will be preferred.
