Job summary

AMD is seeking a Program Manager 1 in Hyderabad to drive SoC programs from planning through Si tape-out. The role requires coordinating IP design, verification, SoC integration and software teams to meet program commitments in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and risk-management skills, experience in engineering programs, and the ability to work with global teams across Asia and North America.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is desired.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are required.
  • Experience with program management in engineering environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute programs focusing on quality and deadlines.
  • Drives completion of all required deliverables with a focus on meeting schedules.
  • Creates and maintains project management artifacts such as schedule, resource, risk and issues logs.
  • Provides project status updates and facilitates cross development team dependencies and communications.
  • Identify action or mitigation plans for issues or risks that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify areas that require escalation and corrective actions.
  • Collect, analyze, organize and publish project status.
  • Show strong self-motivation with a sense of urgency and crisis management skills.
  • Lead multiple teams to ensure on-time Si tape-out and successful SoC integration.

Program Manager 1
THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced program manager with strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills in Pre-Silicon program management organization.Ability to work efficiently and manage effective relationships in a cross-functional organization to meet program commitments for successful Si tape outs. Must be self-directed and able to work in a dynamic environment.

This program manager will drive SoC programs through execution to Si tape out. This involves working with IP design, verification, SoC integration and software development teams to ensure that program requirements and scope are achieved. The program manager is required to work with these teams to resolve program roadblocks efficiently and to meet program schedule.

THE PERSON:

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of program management and a strong track record of delivering complex programs. Besides being able to work cross-functionally, this program manager needs to have good interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and execute programs focusing on quality and deadlines
  • Drives completion of all required deliverables, with a focus on meeting established deadlines
  • Creates and maintains project management artifacts such as schedule, resource, risk and issues logs
  • Provides unique views of project status updates and facilitates cross development team dependencies and communications
  • Identify action or mitigation plans for issues or risks that arise during the project lifecycle
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify areas that require special attention or escalations to identify corrective actions
  • Collect, analyze, organize and publish project status
  • Strong self-motivator, with a sense of urgency when needed and strong crisis management skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven Technical Program Management experience in dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within Engineering based organizations
  • RTL design, physical implementation or circuit verification experience is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively as a self-starter and as part of a team
  • Flexible working schedule to manage global program execution team (Asia and North America emphasis)
  • Strong knowledge of productivity and project tools including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite
  • PMPcertification is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is desired
