Job description

Prairie Logistics has a trucking client in North America with over 550 trucks and over 1200 trailers in the fleet. Prairie oversees multiple departments from India with 2 branches here. Currently looking for an IT Engineer to oversee technical support, web designing, brand presence, and performance of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users regarding hardware, software, network, and other IT-related issues. Troubleshoot problems and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  2. System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components. Monitor system performance, apply updates and patches, and ensure system security and data integrity.
  3. Network Management: Manage and maintain the organization’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). Set up and configure network devices, troubleshoot network connectivity issues, and ensure network security and performance.
  4. Hardware and Software Management: Procure, install, and maintain computer hardware, peripherals, and software applications. Perform hardware and software upgrades, track software licenses, and maintain an inventory of IT assets.
  5. Data Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage data backup and recovery solutions to ensure the protection and availability of critical data. Regularly backup data, test backup integrity, and develop disaster recovery plans.
  6. Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce IT security measures to protect the organization’s data and systems. This includes configuring firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  7. User Training and Documentation: Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT systems, applications, and best practices. Create and maintain documentation, such as user manuals and technical guides, to assist users and IT staff.
  8. IT Project Management: Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and implementations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, define project requirements, manage timelines and resources, and ensure successful project delivery.
  9. Stay Updated with Technology: Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the IT industry. Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their implementation to improve efficiency and productivity.
