Growth For Impact in India is seeking a seasoned Power Systems Engineer to deliver comprehensive studies for renewable projects across all lifecycle stages. You will model steady-state and transient behavior, assess grid interconnection, and support client proposals with rigorous technical findings.

The role requires strong analytical capability, proficiency in ETAP/DIgSILENT/PSSE tools, and the ability to communicate complex results clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality steady-state and transient studies for renewables across project Phases.
  • Perform load flow and short-circuit analyses, protection coordination, and power quality assessments.
  • Review vendor documents, protection schemes, and equipment specs; validate settings for inverters, transformers, BESS, wind turbines, and FACTS devices.
  • Model and simulate complex power systems using ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, PSCAD, and EMTP.
  • Automate parametric studies, batch processing, and reporting using DSL and Python scripting.
  • Maintain and improve study libraries, templates, validation databases, and standard workflows.
  • Prepare detailed client-ready technical reports, simulations, and executive summaries.

Job description

ROLE
  • – Deliver high‑quality steady‑state and transient power system studies, including RMS and EMT modelling for renewable energy projects across all project phases.
  • – Perform load flow/power flow analysis, short‑circuit/fault level analysis, protection coordination, arc‑flash and grounding studies, power quality assessments, grid compliance and interconnection studies, contingency analysis, insulation coordination, stability studies, ride‑through studies, cable ampacity and voltage control studies, sub‑synchronous oscillation studies, and ramp‑rate/frequency/inertial response studies.
  • – Conduct manual engineering calculations for short‑circuit levels, transformer sizing, protection schemes, grounding design, lightning protection, CT/PT sizing, and reactive power requirements.
  • – Review and validate vendor‑supplied documents, protection schemes, equipment specifications, and control settings for inverters, transformers, BESS, wind turbines, and FACTS devices; perform studies involving HVDC links and FACTS devices.
  • – Model and simulate complex power systems using ETAP and DIgSILENT PowerFactory; use PSS/E, PSCAD, and EMTP for dynamic, stability, and EMT studies.
  • – Automate parametric studies, batch processing, sensitivity analysis, custom model development, result post‑processing, and reporting using DSL and Python scripting.
  • – Maintain and improve study libraries, model templates, validation databases, and standard workflows in ETAP and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
  • – Prepare detailed client‑ready technical reports, simulation results, sensitivity analyses, executive summaries, and presentations for clients, lenders, utilities, and regulators.
  • – Contribute to internal QA/QC processes, modelling guidelines, and validation protocols.
  • – Collaborate with electrical design, renewable engineering, due‑diligence, and advisory teams to deliver integrated lifecycle solutions.
  • – Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers on modelling techniques, tool usage, automation, and grid‑code requirements.
  • – Contribute to thought leadership through technical blogs, whitepapers, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and presentations.
  • – Support business development with technical inputs to proposals and client discussions.
