Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled BI Engineer to design, develop, and optimize Power BI reports and semantic models for enterprise analytics. The role emphasizes DAX, data modeling, and scalable data pipelines across cloud platforms including AWS.

You will publish datasets to Power BI Service, implement RLS and deployment pipelines, and work with business stakeholders to deliver executive dashboards and KPI scorecards. Strong Python skills for ETL are a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in business intelligence platforms.
• Strong hands‑on experience developing enterprise Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
• Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), calculated measures and data modeling.
• Experience publishing datasets using Power BI Service and managing datasets.
• Knowledge of RLS, Incremental Refresh, Gateways, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience building executive dashboards and KPI scorecards.
• Advanced SQL for query optimization and analytics.
• Strong Python programming for automation and ETL development.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and semantic models using Power BI


• Create optimized data models, DAX calculations, KPIs, measures, Power Query transformations, and enterprise reporting solutions


• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for analytics and reporting


• Work with modern cloud platforms including AWS and Power BI


• Optimize Power BI reports through DAX optimization, query tuning, incremental refresh, aggregation, and performance best practices


• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace governance, deployment pipelines, and Power BI Service administration


• Maintain technical documentation for dashboards, datasets, pipelines, and operational runbooks


• Troubleshoot reporting, performance, data quality, and production issues while ensuring high availability of analytics solutions


• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
