Barclays seeks an AVP Production Ops to lead Portfolio Tooling, Data Insights and Value Enablement from Pune. You will drive delivery tooling, reporting and analytics, governance processes, and planning activities to ensure scalable, transparent, and efficient execution.

You will coordinate portfolio planning, manage risks/dependencies, and report to senior stakeholders while enabling AI-enabled reporting and data-driven decision making across Product, Technology, and Finance teams.

Job description

Join us as a Portfolio Tooling, Data insights and Value enablement – AVP Prod Ops at Barclays, where you'll spearhead the evolution of our Barclays team. As an AVP, you need to drive operational excellence across the Product organization by managing delivery tooling, reporting and analytics, performance metrics, governance processes, and planning activities. To ensures consistency, transparency, and scalability in how work is planned, measured, funded, and executed while continually identifying opportunities to simplify processes and improve organizational effectiveness.

To be successful as a Portfolio Tooling, Data insights and Value enablement – AVP Prod Ops, you should have experience with:
  • Proven experience as a Portfolio Lead, coordinating portfolio planning, prioritization, governance, delivery oversight, risks, dependencies, and executive reporting.
  • Core expertise as a Product Analyst (Technology), translating business and product needs into clear requirements, insights, delivery outcomes, and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong data modelling and analytics capability, including defining data structures, metrics, KPIs, and management information to support evidence-based decisions.
  • Hands-on experience in Jira reporting, dashboard creation, data quality management, workflow analysis, and delivery performance reporting.
  • RTE skillset with practical experience supporting Agile Release Trains, PI Planning, dependency management, risk escalation, delivery cadence, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in portfolio governance, operational controls, planning, prioritization, funding processes, and outcome-based performance management.
  • Ability to communicate complex portfolio, product, and delivery information clearly to senior stakeholders through concise analysis and presentations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across Product, Technology, Finance, Business Management, and Transformation teams.

Some other highly valued skills may include:
  • Working knowledge of AI and generative AI applications for reporting automation, portfolio analysis, insight generation, and decision support.
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer, SAFe Agilist, Product Management, Agile, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data-visualisation tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management, business-case development, benefits tracking, and value-stream management.
  • Experience improving Jira-based processes and data governance across multiple teams or value streams.

To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities
  • Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
  • Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
  • Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.
  • Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
  • Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
